摘要: Methods and systems enhance the accuracy of the global positioning system (GPS) using a low earth orbiting (LEO) satellite constellation. According to embodiments described herein, GPS data is received from GPS satellites at a GPS control segment and is used to create GPS correction data to be utilized by user equipment to correct errors within the GPS data. The GPS correction data is transmitted from the GPS control segment to a LEO ground segment, where it is uplinked to the LEO satellite constellation. To account for bandwidth constraints and minimize any performance degradation of the LEO satellites, the GPS correction data is broadcast to earth on a subset of the total number of available spot beams. The subset of spot beams is selected in part according to satellite angular velocity, bandwidth constraints, and message latency estimates.

摘要: Technologies are described herein for laying out content. Constraints and rules are defined for one or more content objects. The constraints are utilized to lay out content objects on a canvas. Content is received for one of the content objects. The constraints and rules for the content object are utilized in an attempt to fit the content to the selected content object. If the content cannot be fit to the selected content object, the rules are utilized to modify the constraints for the other content objects and the layout for the canvas is regenerated. If the available content cannot be fit to the content objects on a page without overflowing, one or more additional pages are added to the canvas. Once the additional pages have been added, the content objects are laid out and content is fitted to the content objects across all of the pages.

摘要: According to one method for approximating a network of terminals, a graph comprising nodes and edges connecting at least some of the nodes is received. The nodes include terminals and non-terminal nodes. The non-terminal nodes are each associated with a weight. The terminals are each initialized to a value. The values of the terminals are incremented by a given amount until the values of the terminals reach a sufficient amount to acquire at least one of the non-terminal nodes that connects at least two of the terminals based on the weight of the at least one of the non-terminal nodes. Upon the values of the terminals reaching the sufficient amount, the at least one of the non-terminal nodes and the edges connecting the at least one of the non-terminal nodes to the at least two of the terminals are acquired to form a connected component in the network of terminals.

摘要: Technologies are described herein for emitting raster and vector content from a single software component. An application program maintains an in-memory representation of a document in an intermediate format. When the application program needs to render the document, it determines whether the target device is a raster or a vector device. The application program then utilizes a single software component to render the document for the target device. The application program provides an instruction to the software component as to whether the in-memory representation should be rendered as vector content or as raster content. In response to receiving the instruction, the software component retrieves the in-memory representation and renders it according to the instruction received from the application program. The rendered content is then provided to the target device.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for location-based information delivery. One system described herein includes a matching server operative to identify a geographic area in which an informational message should be transmitted to subscriber devices located within the area. The geographic area may be a statically defined fixed geographic area, such as a neighborhood, that the matching server identifies utilizing one or more fixed geographic indicators. The geographic area identified by the matching server may alternatively be an ad-hoc variably sized geographic area. The matching server may utilize one or more variable geographic indicators to identify the geographic area. Once a geographic area has been identified, the matching server is operative to transmit an informational message to subscriber devices located within the geographic area. The informational message may contain content relevant to the geographic area.

摘要: Methods and systems provide pulsed-power to a load utilizing high temperature superconductors (HTS) within multiple pulsed-power devices. According to embodiments described herein, each pulsed-power device includes a HTS mounted on a rotor and an armature coil mounted on a stator. The rotor is positioned to allow a magnetic field within the HTS to induce a voltage in the armature coil when the rotor is rotating and to allow a magnetic field created by passing current through the armature coil to charge the HTS. Current created from the operation of a first pulsed-power device is routed to the armature coil in a second pulsed-power device to charge the associated HTS to a higher value. Subsequently, the second pulsed-power device is operated to produce current that is used to further charge the HTS in the first pulsed-power device. This bootstrapping procedure is repeated until all HTSs are fully charged.
