Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an Evolved Node-B (eNB) operable to communicate with a User Equipment (UE) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to determine a presence of a Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PT-RS) and a density of the PT-RS. The second circuitry may be operable to process the PT-RS. The second circuitry may also be operable to process a transmission in a Multi-User Superposition Transmission (MUST) operation in accordance with the PT-RS.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate determination of spatial (and/or beam) assumption(s) for PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel) transmitted after a BFR (Beam Failure Recovery) request but before TCI (Transmission Configuration Information) reconfiguration. One example embodiment can be an apparatus configured to: generate a BFR request that indicates a new candidate beam; process a CORESET (Control Resource Set)-BFR of a set of configured CORESETs, wherein the CORESET-BFR comprises a response to the BFR request; determine a spatial assumption for a first PDSCH based on the BFR request, wherein the first PDSCH is scheduled by a first CORESET of the set of configured CORESETs, wherein the first CORESET is different than the CORESET-BFR, wherein the first PDSCH is scheduled before a TCI state is one of reconfigured, reactivated, or re-indicated; and process the first PDSCH based on the determined spatial assumption for the first PDSCH.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode downlink control information (DCI) from a base station, the DCI including a modulation coding scheme (MCS) index and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) allocation. A demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) is encoded for transmission to the base station within a plurality of DM-RS symbols based on the PUSCH allocation. A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) time domain density is determined based on the MCS index and a number count of the DM-RS symbols for the DM-RS transmission. The PT-RS is encoded for transmission using a plurality of PT-RS symbols based on the determined time domain density. The plurality of symbols includes one or both of front-loaded DM-RS symbols and additional DM-RS symbols.

Abstract: Network devices and systems in 5G and new radio (NR) infrastructures can utilize beam management operations to ensure communications for beam management procedure triggering including beam reporting, even during fall-back mode when the current receive (Rx) beam for downlink (DL) and transmit (Tx) beam for uplink (UL) fail. Additionally, reduction in overhead can be achieved with a reference beam pair link based beam reporting in a fall-back mode or not. This beam reporting can be a group based beam reporting and based on Reference Signal Received Powers (RSRPs) of beams and a differential RSRP corresponding thereto.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing beam information for secondary cell beam failure recovery in a wireless communication system. A wireless device and a cellular base station may establish a wireless link, according to which the wireless device may be configured to communicate using a primary cell and a secondary cell. The wireless device may detect beam failure on the secondary cell. The wireless device may send an indication of the beam failure recovery to the cellular base station. The wireless device may receive information configuring candidate transmit beam reference signals for performing beam recovery on the secondary cell. The wireless device may perform beam identification and report on any new transmit beam(s) identified by the wireless device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for performing beam selection. An embodiment operates by receiving, from a base station, a request for a report for at least one uplink beam. In response, the embodiment generates the report for the at least one uplink beam. The report for the at least one uplink beam can include an indication that a resource corresponding to the at least one uplink beam is available for uplink beam indication. The resource can be a Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) resource or a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) resource. The embodiment transmits the report for the at least one uplink beam to the base station. The embodiment then receives, from the base station, an indication that the at least one uplink beam is selectable for uplink transmission based on the report for the uplink beam.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for methods and apparatus for carrying out wireless communication using Long Term Evolution (LTE) in a frequency band with low peak-to-average-power.
