Abstract:
An electronic device, with a touch-sensitive surface and a display, includes one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface. The device detects a contact on the touch-sensitive surface while a focus selector corresponding to the contact is at a respective location on the display associated with additional information not initially displayed on the display. While the focus selector is at the respective location, upon determining that the contact has an intensity above a respective intensity threshold before a predefined delay time has elapsed with the focus selector at the respective location, the device displays the additional information associated with the respective location without waiting until the predefined delay time has elapsed; and upon determining that the contact has an intensity below the respective intensity threshold, the device waits until the predefined delay time has elapsed to display the additional information associated with the respective location.
Abstract:
A device with a display and a touch-sensitive keyboard with one or more character keys: displays a text entry area; detects a first input on the touch-sensitive keyboard; in accordance with a determination that the first input corresponds to activation of a character key, enters a first character corresponding to the character key into the text entry area; in accordance with a determination that the first input corresponds to a character drawn on the touch-sensitive keyboard: determines one or more candidate characters for the drawn character, and displays a candidate character selection interface that includes at least one of the candidate characters; while displaying the candidate character selection interface, detects a second input that selects a respective candidate character within the candidate character selection interface; and in response to detecting the second input, enters the selected respective candidate character into the text entry area.
Abstract:
In any context where a user can view multiple different content items, switching among content items is provided using an array mode. In a full-frame mode, one content item is visible and active, but other content items may also be open. In response to user input the display can be switched to an array mode, in which all of the content items are visible in a scrollable array. Selecting a content item in array mode can result in the display returning to the full-frame mode, with the selected content item becoming visible and active. Smoothly animated transitions between the full-frame and array modes and a gesture-based interface for controlling the transitions can also be provided.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a user interface that includes a plurality of controls for adjusting parameters of a user interface element, including a first control and a second control for adjusting a first parameter and a second parameter of the user interface element, respectively. In response to receiving a single input directed to the first control, the device updates an appearance of the first control to indicate that the first control is navigating through a plurality of values of the first parameter, generates a plurality of tactile outputs corresponding to updates in the appearance of the first control; and changes a value of the first parameter for the user interface element based on the single input. In response to receiving a single input directed to the first control, a similar set of operations are performed with respect to the second parameter of the user interface element.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display concurrently displays a device status region, and an application user interface that includes a content region and an application input field. While concurrently displaying the device status region and the application user interface, the device receives first input in the application input field. In response, the device concurrently displays respective content in the content region in accordance with the first input, and first text that corresponds to the first input in the application input field. While concurrently displaying the respective content and the first text, the device detects a second input that corresponds to a request to scroll the respective content in a first direction. In response, the device scrolls the respective content in the first direction, ceases to display the application input field, and displays, adjacent to the device status region, the first text.
Abstract:
Systems and processes for manipulating a graphical user interface are disclosed. One process can include receiving user input through a crown to rotate a virtual object. The process includes selecting a surface of the object from among the multiple surfaces of the object in response to determining that the crown rotation exceeded a speed threshold.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and touch-sensitive surface displays a plurality of user interface objects. The device enables multiple objects to be selected by a user, in succession, with a single gesture that remains in contact with the touch-sensitive surface, moving from object to object of the plurality of user interface objects, with separate press inputs for selecting each additional object while maintaining selection of objects previously selected using the same gesture.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays, on a display, a user interface that includes one or more user interface objects. The device detects a first input on the touch-sensitive surface at a location that corresponds to a first user interface object of the one or more user interface objects. Detecting the first input includes detecting a change in intensity of the first input on the touch-sensitive surface from a first intensity to a second intensity, different from the first intensity. In response to detecting the first input, the device obtains a change in a value of a respective simulated physical property that changes in response to changes in intensity of the first input on the touch-sensitive surface, and updates an appearance of the user interface by progressing a first animation between a first state and a second state based on the change in the value of the respective simulated physical property.
Abstract:
User interface navigation on a personal electronics device based on movements of a crown is disclosed. The device can select an appropriate level of information arranged along a z-axis for display based on crown movement. The navigation can be based on an angular velocity of the crown.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface and a display, displays a user interface that includes a plurality of representations of content, including a respective representation of content corresponding to respective content associated with a respective application, wherein the respective representation of content is different from the respective content associated with the respective application. In response to detecting a gesture that includes a contact on the respective representation of the content on the touch-sensitive surface, the device displays the respective content in the application user interface of the respective application if the gesture meets criteria for displaying an application user interface for the respective application associated with the respective representation of content. Alternatively, in response to the gesture, the device displays a respective preview of the respective content without displaying the application user interface of the respective application if the gesture meets criteria for displaying a preview.
