Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, connecting a user equipment to a first node of a first network to provide a service requested by the user equipment to the user equipment, obtaining a first measurement associated with the first node and a second measurement associated with a second node, responsive to the obtaining, detecting that the first measurement is less than a first threshold and the second measurement is greater than a second threshold, responsive to the detecting, identifying an application executed by the user equipment in obtaining the service, and responsive to determining that the application requires dual connectivity based on the identifying, commanding the user equipment to establish connectivity with the second node or a third node to provide at least a portion of the service. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Facilitating automatic latency discovery and dynamic network selection using data analytics in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise inserting, by a system comprising a processor, first information indicative of a first identified time into a first field of a message. Also, the method can comprise transmitting, by the system, the message to a defined device. Further, the method can comprise determining, by the system, an end-to-end latency for the message based on a response received from the defined device in reply to the message. The response can comprise second information indicative of a second identified time that the message was received at the defined device.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to real-time video delivery for connected home (“CH”) applications. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies, a CH controller (“CHC”) can receive a request for delivery of a video stream captured by a CH video camera to a user device. The CHC can determine availability of a wireline communications link to a wireline network and availability of a wireless communications link to a wireless network over which to deliver the video stream to the user device. In response to determining that the wireline communications link and the wireless communications link are available, the CHC can obtain a wireline performance measurement for the wireline communications link, obtain a wireless performance measurement for the wireline communications link, compare the wireline performance measurement and the wireless performance measurement, and select either the wireline communications link or the wireless communications link based upon the comparison.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting network traffic of a traffic flow at a traffic controller of a first portion of a software-defined network, wherein the detected network traffic is based on a service of a number of services. A source of the detected network traffic is identified based on the detected traffic, wherein the traffic flow is between a subscriber device and a service platform. The service is identified based on the detected network traffic, and a service requirement is determined based on the identifying of the service. A virtual network function of a plurality of virtual network functions is selected based on the source of the network traffic and the service requirement, and a traffic flow is facilitated between the subscriber device and the service platform by way of the virtual network function. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Dynamic network based slice selection for a user equipment (UE) or an application of the UE in advanced networks (e.g., 5G and beyond) is presented herein. A dynamic slice selection system can comprise a data collection component and an analytics component. The data collection component can determine a network slice that is being used by a wireless device and a service that is being provided, via the network slice, to the wireless device—the network slice being associated with a virtual network function. Further, an analytics component can obtain performance data corresponding to the service being provided, via the network slice, to the wireless device, and based on the performance data, determine whether the network slice satisfies a defined condition with respect to providing the service to the wireless device.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein that facilitate a dynamic self-backhaul reconnection using a radio resource control messaging. According to some embodiments, a system can comprise detecting a failure in a first backhaul communication link with a first node device, wherein the first node device is communicatively connected to a core network device of a core network, selecting a second node device, other than the first node device, that is communicatively connected to the core network device for establishment of a second backhaul communication link to replace the first backhaul communication link, and facilitating establishing a first connection with the second node device to provide an indication of the failure of the first backhaul communication link, to provide a confirmation that the second node device is available in connection with establishment of the second backhaul communication link, and to request to reserve resources to establish the second backhaul communication link with the second node device.

Abstract: An integrated wireless and wireline access system that uses software defined networking is provided to deliver communication services to user equipment via a variety of network access technologies. The software defined networking system can dynamically choose which network access technology to use to deliver services to the user equipment based on network conditions, quality of service concerns, and user equipment context. The user equipment can have different addresses based on the network access technology, and the software defined networking can redirect communications that are directed to a first address associated with the device on a first network to a second address associated with the same device on a second network.

Abstract: Traffic associated with user equipment that are coupled to a first radio access network is steered to a second radio access network based on an adaptable signal strength criterion. The signal strength criterion is related to real-time network load conditions of the first radio access network and can be broadcasted from a serving access point to the user equipment. Moreover, the signal strength criterion facilitates steering, to the second radio network, traffic associated with user equipment that are located closer to a cell edge of the first radio access network before steering traffic associated with user equipment are located further away from the cell edge. In addition, based on the network congestion within the first radio access network, the signal strength criterion is modified to adjust the number of user equipment that are steered to the second radio network.
