Abstract:
A method and apparatus for creating a custom service in a communication network are disclosed. For example, the method implemented via a processor determines that the custom service does not exist, receives one or more desired functions for the custom service, creates the custom service having the one or more desired functions and modifies one or more network elements within the communication network to perform the one or more desired functions to deploy the custom service.
Abstract:
Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for service creation and management. A processor can detect an event relating to a service, and access a service creation database to identify a recipe associated with the service. The recipe can define a resource to be used to provide the service. The processor can access an inventory to determine if the resource is available, identify a service control to control the service, instruct an infrastructure control to allocate virtual machines to host components of the service, and issue instructions to the service control. The instructions can instruct the service control to load service functions to the virtual machines.
Abstract:
Information is presented over a communications network. The presence of a party on a device is detected in real time. Identity of the party is confirmed based on detecting the presence of the party on the device in real time. Information to offer to the party is identified based on confirming identity of the party. A communication is pushed to the party on the device as a push communication in real time while the party is still present on the device. The information is offered in the push communication while the party is still present on the device.
Abstract:
A method and system for centralized control of user devices is disclosed. The method for centralized control of user devices via universal IP services registrar includes receiving a request to register a user device for a plurality of services, registering the user device for the plurality of services by creating a user settings profile for the user for each of the plurality of services, receiving data from the plurality of registered services, and transmitting received data to the user device in accordance with the user profile.

Abstract:
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is used in IMS in order to provide a mechanism to forward (Internet Protocol) IP packets and provide a simplified solution to the complex signaling path of IMS according to directives from an SDN Controller. SDN is used in at least three particular scenarios. In the first scenario, communications are simplified using SDN directed signaling disaggregation. In the second scenario, SDN is used to direct media function chaining. In the third scenario, the system can be used as an SDN based media relay.
Abstract:
A system and method may comprise providing, via a computing device, a connection link to an end user device having a network connectivity access network element; extracting, via an advertisement server, an offer of a value voucher unique to the end user from a database connected to the advertisement server and presenting, through the end user device, an offer of the value voucher to the end user; receiving, via the computing device, from the end user an acceptance of the value voucher; and storing the value voucher in a coupon database in an Internet accessible coupon storage locker unique to the end user.
Abstract:
According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a cloud computing system can include a load adaptation architecture framework that performs operations for orchestrating and managing one or more services that may operate within at least one of layers 4 through 7 of the Open Systems Interconnection (“OSI”) communication model. The cloud computing system also can include a virtual resource layer. The virtual resource layer can include a virtual network function that provides, at least in part, a service. The cloud computing system also can include a hardware resource layer. The hardware resource layer can include a hardware resource that is controlled by a virtualization layer. The virtualization layer can cause the virtual network function to be instantiated on the hardware resource so that the virtual network function can be used to support the service.
Abstract:
A persona determination approach can be utilized to apply digital personas across multiple communications domains. A service gateway can determine whether to transfer a request for communications services to a Persona Determination Mechanism (PDM). The PDM can select a digital persona based on available information and transmit the digital persona to the service gateway. The service gateway can process the communications services based on the selected digital persona or based on the determination not to transfer the request. In some methods, the service gateway can forward the processed request to one or more network elements for further processing. Related systems are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A particular method includes receiving a signal to invoke a central server-directed service from a first communication device at a session initiation protocol application device. The first communication device is coupled to at least one second communication device via a pathway of a half call model communication session. The method includes sending first instructions to the first communication device via the session initiation protocol device in response to the signal. The first instructions enable the first device to access the central server-directed service. The method also includes sending second instructions to the at least one second device via the session initiation protocol device in response to the signal. The second instructions enable the at least one second communication device to access the central server-directed service.
