The present invention relates to a method and system for transmitting data in cellular network, wherein frequency reuse is proposed to be designed adaptive and utilized only only when needed, e.g., with small coding rates. The adaptive reuse can be obtained by using the conventional link adaptation approach. The invention can be easily applied to a Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) system which consists of combination of localized and distributed FDMA.
