Abstract: To improve identifiability of optical fiber ribbons, an exemplary optical fiber ribbon of the invention includes: at least three optical fibers arranged side by side; and a plurality of connection parts that each connect two adjacent ones of the optical fibers, the connection parts being provided intermittently in a length direction of the optical fibers and in a width direction of the optical fibers. A marking for identifying the optical fiber ribbon is provided to each optical fiber. The position, in the circumferential direction, of the marking provided to at least one of the optical fibers is different from the position, in the circumferential direction, of the marking provided to another optical fiber.

Abstract: An optical fiber unit includes: an optical fiber bundle formed by bundling a plurality of optical fibers; and a plurality of bundling members. Each of the bundling members is wound on an outer circumference of the optical fiber bundle along a length direction of the optical fiber bundle while a winding direction of the bundling member is reversed alternately, and joined with another bundling member at reverse sections where the winding direction of the bundling member is reversed. A region surrounded by a pair of the bundling members to be joined at the reverse sections includes a joining point at one of the reverse sections of another pair of the bundling members.

Abstract: An objective of the disclosure is to improve workability in extracting optical fibers in an optical fiber unit in which a bundle of optical fibers is bundled by bundling members, and to suppress/prevent an increase in transmission loss even when tension is applied to the bundling members. This optical fiber unit includes: a plurality of optical fibers; and at least three bundling members that bundle the optical fibers into a bundle. A first bundling member, among the plurality of bundling members, is arranged along a length direction of the bundle of optical fibers so as to be wound on an outer circumference of the bundle of optical fibers. The first bundling member is joined with a second bundling member at a contact point where the first bundling member contacts the second bundling member, and is joined with a third bundling member, which is different from the second bundling member, at a contact point where the first bundling member contacts the third bundling member. The first bundling member's winding direction with respect to the bundle of optical fibers is reversed at the contact point with the second bundling member and at the contact point with the third bundling member.
