    摘要： A chuck is provided for retaining the shank of a tool bit or accessory, having a fixed diameter, inserted in a central channel at a distal end of the chuck. At least one torsion spring is mounted axially within a housing and has an inner dimension and shape comparable to the shank's outer dimension and shape. A mechanism winds and unwinds the torsion spring to respectively grip or release said shank, the winding being in a rotational direction consistent with a normal operating rotational direction of said chuck such that said shank tends to further wind the torsion spring for further self-tightening in normal operation.

    摘要： The case for drill bits or the like provides automatic rotation a holder to an access position on opening the cover, without any linkage to the cover. The rotation may be by virtue of a molded or mechanical spring or other biasing means, such as springiness of a living hinge, for example. Each holder provides multiple holes into or through which drill bits or the like are inserted. The action of closing the cover moves the holders from their access position into a storage position, by contacting one or more of the holders, or one or more of the drill bits. The case can be a one-piece molded construction, or an assembly of various components, e.g. base, cover, holders, and removable stop walls. A locking bar may be provided to prevent removal of drill bits of the type having a recess in their shanks, and the locking bar may be movable between a locked and unlocked position, for example by closing or opening of the cover.

    摘要： The hand tool has a shaft with a distal end which is configured to receive any one of a variety of different sized chisel or scraper blades or the like, via corresponding male and female dovetail connections, for example. Storage space for the extra blades, if desired, may be provided in the handle which is secured to the shaft, or may be provided via depressions in a panel of a tool case of the type commonly referred to as "gift cases". Where storage space is provided in the handle, preferably this is accomplished by virtue of a spring-loaded collar which overlies lower portions of elongated rotatable cover pieces, preventing rotation. When the spring-loaded collar is retracted, the cover pieces can be rotated, to reveal storage areas on either side of the handle.

    摘要： The case has a molded plastic card member, and a lid specifically configured to mate with the card member to define an enclosed area. The lid is connected to the card member by a hinge adjacent one edge thereof so as to be foldable between an open position away from the card member, and a closed position against the card member to define the enclosed area. The card member and the lid preferably each have tabs extending from side edges opposite the hinge, each tab having a hole generally alignable with a corresponding hole in the other tab, for the installing of a closure such as a thick plastic loop not generally severable without a tool. The card member and lid define between them a number of openings through the enclosed area particularly sized for portions of tool components and/or extra tool components to extend therethrough generally parallel to the card member, for visibility and preferably manipulation, without it being possible to remove them as long as the case is closed. At least one of the enclosed area and an area of the card member outside the enclosed area have tool components and/or extra tool components receivers configured such that removal of a tool component and/or extra tool components through the openings from the enclosed area is prevented when the lid is in the closed position, by a wall of a recess, or by a raised stop or the like.
