    摘要: An objective lens actuator is provided with an objective lens holder and a tilting coil that drives the objective lens holder in a tilting direction. The tilting coil is inclined with respect to the horizontal direction, so that a rotation center when the objective lens holder is driven in the tilting direction, is located on extension lines of sides that effectively contribute to driving the objective lens holder in the tilting direction by interaction between a magnetic field formed by a magnet and current that is supplied and flows in the coil among sides of the tilting coil.

    摘要: In an optical pickup apparatus, a collimator lens is rockably supported by edges of two protruding portions formed on opposing sides of a groove of an optical base. The collimator lens is urged against the edges of the two protruding portions by a leaf spring. The position in vertical direction of one end of the leaf spring is adjusted by a position adjustor. In this manner, a tilt angle of the collimator lens is adjusted. Therefore, astigmatism of the light spot can precisely be compensated for irrespective of variations among apparatuses to achieve an excellent light spot.

    摘要: The present invention aims to correct the spherical aberration and ensure the working distance and furthermore to obtain satisfactory recording and reproducing property by shaping the optical spot formed on the disc surface. A liquid crystal element for correcting spherical aberration includes diffraction electrodes for converting the light beam to a divergent light when reproducing a CD, and phase shift electrodes for providing a phase difference to the light beam when reproducing a BD. When reproducing a BD, voltage is applied to the diffraction electrodes as well as the phase shift electrodes to diverge the light beam and lower the light intensity of the central portion, thereby shaping the optical spot formed on the disc.
