Abstract: Embodiments described herein include a delivery system having unmanned aerial delivery vehicles and a logistics network for control and monitoring. In certain embodiments, a ground station provides a location for interfacing between the delivery vehicles, packages carried by the vehicles and users. In certain embodiments, the delivery vehicles autonomously navigate from one ground station to another. In certain embodiments, the ground stations provide navigational aids that help the delivery vehicles locate the position of the ground station with increased accuracy.

Abstract: Segmentation first breaks the images into segments or regions, with the segments of the region having text or symbols. The segmented image is separately applied to two different CNN-based models. Each model produces text boxes where potential text might exist. Then, a selective NMS algorithm is applied to the output of each model to produce a final group of text regions. These text regions are analyzed and actions are taken.

Abstract: Methods and an assembly apparatus are described for operating a node-enabled logistics receptacle in a wireless node network having at least a first node related to an item being shipped. The method generally begins with the node-enabled logistics receptacle detecting a signal broadcast by the first node, such as when a package having the first node approaches the receptacle. The method then associates the node-enabled logistics receptacle with the first node. The method continues with the node-enabled logistics receptacle determining a location of the first node, and then altering a current inventory of nodes related to the node-enabled logistics receptacle based upon the location of the first node, such as when the first node is within a vicinity of the receptacle that is an area sufficiently proximate to the node-enabled logistics receptacle to indicate an item and node within the vicinity intends to be shipped.

Abstract: A system for loading and transporting parcels includes: a sorter including a plurality of chutes for offloading parcels from the sorter; a plurality of totes; a plurality of self-driving vehicles (“SDVs”) configured to transport the plurality of totes between a loading area, an unloading area, and a queue area; and a control subsystem. The loading area includes a plurality of zones, with each zone corresponding to one or more chutes of the sorter. The control subsystem includes a controller, which is operably connected to the SDVs, and which selectively communicates instructions to dispatch SDVs to transport and replace totes in the loading area as they become filled to the predetermined capacity. A method for loading and transporting parcels in a sorting facility including a loading area, an unloading area, and a queue area is also disclosed.
