In a video signal transmission system in which a pulse signal is superimposed upon a video signal in a predetermined horizontal line within a vertical blanking period thereof and then transmitted, when an aspect ratio of a picture displayed on the basis of a video signal is different from an aspect ratio of a picture screen of a monitor receiver, an information instructing a portion, which is not displayed on the picture screen due to a difference between the two aspect ratios, is superimposed upon a predetermined horizontal line within the vertical blanking period as a pulse signal.

    摘要: A recording and reproducing apparatus which can prevent deterioration of the picture quality from being caused by an overshoot, a ringing or a noise component when, using a video tape recorder which can process two kinds of video signals having different aspect ratios, a video signal having a greater one of the aspect ratios is reflected on a television set. The recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a peaking circuit for adding an overshoot or a ringing to a video signal, a noise canceller circuit for cancelling noise from the video signal and a comb line filter for removing noise from the video signal. The peaking circuit, the noise canceller circuit and the comb line filter are capable of changing over the peaking frequency, the noise cancelling characteristic and the comb line filter characteristic thereof, respectively, in accordance with an aspect ratio of the video signal.

    摘要: A data decoding device capable of decoding plural kinds of data superimposed in a vertical blanking period of a video signal. The device comprises means for detecting the line number and the intraline position in the vertical blanking period from vertical and horizontal sync signals and generating a line signal extract pulse, a data signal extract pulse and a reference signal extract pulse; binary circuit means for converting the video signal into a binary signal; PLL means for producing a data extract clock signal in synchronism with a clock reference signal extracted on the basis of the line signal extract pulse and the reference signal extract pulse; memory means supplied with the data extract clock signal and the binary signal in response to the line signal extract pulse and the data signal extract pulse, and storing the data signal therein; and control means capable of designating a plurality of durations for generating the respective extract pulses and a plurality of frequency division ratios in the PLL means. In the device, the circuits are usable in common to achieve curtailment in the production cost.

    摘要: A video signal reproducing apparatus has a filter circuit interposed in a transmission path for a reproduced luminance signal, and the characteristic of the filter circuit desirably includes a band-eliminating characteristic and a comb-filter passband characteristic which can be selectively emphasized. When the reproduced luminance signal has a normal or relatively smaller frequency bandwidth or a relatively small line correlation component, or when the level of the reproduced carrier chrominance signal is high, the band-eliminating characteristic of the filter circuit is emphasized. The foregoing video signal reproducing apparatus is particularly suited for reproducing a color video signal that includes a wide band luminance signal, in which case the comb-filter passband characteristic of the filter circuit is selected or emphasized so as to reduce noise near the color subcarrier frequency, to avoid displacement of a reproduced picture of high definition in the vertical direction and also to avoid interference caused by the vertical non-correlation component of a color picture.
