Abstract: Embodiments described herein encode data for multiple-segment transmission in a communication channel by encoding payload bits with an outer code and distributing the outer encoded payload bits to a plurality of N element coders, where N is an integer greater than one. At each of the N element coders the respectively input outer encoded payload bits are encoded with a respective element code. Outputs of the N element coders are encoded with an inner code such that the inner code applied to at least one of the outputs of the N element coders is a function of the output of at least one other of the N element coders. Finally, N discrete inner coded outputs are provided for transmission in respective N discrete segments of a wireless channel. The examples present polar element coders and the inner code combines outputs of certain element coders with an exclusive-OR function.

For example, wireless communication systems may benefit from methods and mechanisms for acknowledgement of a system information request. A method can include determining how to provide requested system information to a user equipment. The method can also include indicating to the user equipment whether the user equipment is to move to a connected mode or to stay in an idle or inactive mode to receive the system information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for RSRQ measurements. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, at a user equipment, measurement configuration information including at least one value for a first type of reference signal received quality measurement; detecting, at the user equipment, whether an offset is received from the network; adjusting the at least one value in accordance with the detected offset to enable a second type of reference signal received quality measurement at the user equipment; and activating the second type of reference signal received quality measurement configured with the adjusted at least one value. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

Abstract: When a time domain collision between Tracking Reference Signal (TRS) symbols and downlink shared data channel symbols is detected, the TRS symbols may be multiplexed with the downlink shared data channel symbols from multiple Transmission Reception Points (TRPs) not sharing quasi co-location (QCL) parameters with each other. If a time domain collision between TRS symbols and dynamically or semi-static (e.g., persistent) downlink shared data channel transmissions is detected, transmission and/or reception of the TRS and/or the downlink shared data channel may be adjusted.
