    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station and a user equipment (UE) may perform dynamic rank assignment in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications by leveraging channel reciprocity. For example, the base station and the UE may apply a common algorithm to enable dynamic rank assignment of allocated frequency resources within a communication slot. In some examples, at least one threshold may be utilized to assign different ranks to different frequency resources. Additionally or alternatively, a number of frequency resources assigned a lower rank may be indicated between the base station and the UE in accordance with a joint criteria. Further, dynamic rank assignment may allow the base station and the UE to account for channel fading, improving throughput over the channel without increasing signaling overhead.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a tolerance for interference associated with peak-to-average-power-ratio (PAPR) signaling, the PAPR signaling including one or more of space frequency multi-user (SFMU) signaling or tone reservation signaling. The UE may receive, via a downlink channel, a downlink communication having the PAPR signaling applied to subcarriers of the downlink channel based at least in part on the indication of the tolerance for interference. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive reference signals for a UE beam measurement procedure for measuring a set of network transmit beams corresponding to the set of reference signals. The UE may transmit a measurement report indicating measurements of the set of reference signals based on the UE beam measurement procedure, where the measurement report further includes an indication of one or more candidate network transmit beams that are additional to the set of network transmit beams and that are within an angular offset threshold from one or more network transmit beams of the set of network transmit beams. In response to transmitting the measurement report, the UE may receive a message indicating a configuration for communications with the network entity.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a message that indicates a coding procedure such as a multi-level coding (MLC) procedure to implement for ongoing communications. The UE may select a first code rate indicator value from a plurality of code rate indicator values corresponding to a first code rate for a first coding level of the coding procedure, and may select a second code rate indicator value that corresponds to a second code rate for a second coding level of the coding procedure. The UE may then transmit a coding level indicator report which includes the selected first code rate indicator value and second code rate indicator value. Based on the transmitted coding level indicator report, the UE may communicate at least one data packet using the coding procedure and the first and second code rates.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may report an initial capability to maintain latency conditions and a number of supported beams (e.g., a threshold number of beams the UE can support for relaying downlink communications such as synchronization signal blocks (SSBs)). A network entity may then transmit multiple SSBs directly to the repeater (e.g., on the same beam). The repeater may relay the SSBs across multiple beams to provide service to a coverage area. After relaying signaling between served UEs and the network entity, the repeater may transmit a report requesting a specific (e.g., improved or more accurate) number of beams (e.g., more beams or fewer beams than the number of SSBs initially provided). Upon receiving an updated configuration of a number of beams, the repeater may receive more SSBs on a single beam, and relay SSBs on the updated number of beams.

    Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide radio frequency (RF) beamforming using a cylindrical lens and interleaved receive and transmit antenna arrays. In one example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a cylindrical lens having a first surface and a curved second surface opposite to the first surface. In some cases, the cylindrical lens may include a power direction corresponding to a curvature of the curved second surface and a non-power direction that is orthogonal to the power direction. In some aspects, the apparatus can include at least one receive antenna array disposed proximate to the first surface of the cylindrical lens that has a plurality of receive antenna array elements. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may measure a received power of one or more reference signals, such as channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RSs) or synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), transmitted by a base station for a beam management procedure. The UE may determine a set of channel statistics associated with a channel used by the base station to transmit the one or more reference signals based on performing the beam management procedure. The UE may transmit a report to the base station, the report including at least an indication of the received of the one or more reference signals and the set of channel statistics. The base station may select a beam or a channel for communication with the UE based on at least the indication of the received power and the set of channel statistics.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a control message indicating a capability of the UE to identify and report a reciprocity parameter between downlink communications and uplink communications of a channel between the UE and the base station. In some examples, the base station may request a reciprocity report from the UE. The UE may identify a reciprocity parameter based on one or more parameters associated with an array of antennas at the UE. The reciprocity parameter may indicate a reciprocity between an uplink beam and a downlink beam, such as a degree of overlap between the uplink beam and the downlink beam. The UE may report the reciprocity parameter via a reciprocity report to the base station. In some examples, the base station may identify one or more parameters based on the reciprocity report.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform both a channel estimation and a non-linearity estimation (e.g., a power amplifier (PA) model estimation) on a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) transmitted by a base station. For example, the DMRS may include two portions that correspond to two peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) values. Low PAPR values may enable the UE to perform the channel estimation, and high PAPR values may enable the UE to perform the PA non-linearity estimation. Accordingly, a first portion of the DMRS may correspond to a lower PAPR value, and the second portion of the DMRS may correspond to a higher PAPR value. In some examples, the base station may signal different parameters for each portion of the DMRS to the UE, or the UE may use fixed values to receive each portion of the DMRS.
