摘要： A roman shade with liner has a headrail, a bottom bar spaced apart from and parallel to the headrail and both a face material and a liner extending from the headrail and attached to the bottom bar. A plurality of lift cords are attached to the bottom bar, pass through the gap between the liner and the face material and extend into the headrail. Each lift cord engages a set of tabs, rings or other one cord connectors attached to the inside surface of the face material. Preferably, each lift cord also engages cord connectors on the inside surface of the liner. The face material and the liner are each a material that will form loops that extend below the bottom bar as the bottom bar is raised. The face material and liner are sized and configured so that no loop of face material will extend beyond at least one loop of liner material. Consequently, the liner will block sunlight from the face material when the shade is fully raised or partially raised. The face material and liner preferably are attached to the headrail by inserts that are removable from the headrail. A line of magnets may be provided along each side edge of the liner with a lift cord positioned behind each line of magnets.

Each bracket is generally L-shaped having a top that extends over the headrail and a tab or front wall that engages that front wall of the headrail. The rear of the bracket engages the bottom of the headrail. A lever extends from the front wall toward the back wall and engages the top of the headrail or a tab extending from the top of the headrail. An actuator is movably connected to the rear wall of the bracket and is positioned to engage the lever and move the lever to release the headrail.

摘要： A method for making a material structure which has at least one section of first material spaced apart from at least one section of second material. A number of thin, elongated strands connect the first material to the second material. The strands may adhere to the first and second material along a transverse edge of each material or may instead adhere to a side of the material sections at some distance from the edge. The resulting material structure may be incorporated into clothing or into window shade structures, for example. The method is performed by positioning an adhesive applicator such that adhesive can be dispensed to form strands which contact and bond the first material. The applicator is moved away from the first material so as to form an elongated strand between the first material and the applicator. The applicator is then moved such that the strand contacts the second material so that the strand connects the first material to the second material. These steps are then repeated while indexing the applicator such that any bonding point along the first material and the second material is adjacent to a previous bonding point.

摘要： Clamps are provided for shortening a venetian type blind to fit windows of different lengths. The clamp has two portions connected by hinge. The two portions are fastened together on a lift cord and ladder below the slat at the desired shortened length. At least two clamps are used to shorten the blind. After the clamps are applied the blind is shortened by removing that portion of the blind below the clamps. This can be done by releasing each lift cord from the bottomrail and pulling the lift cord from the bottomrail through the slats to be removed. The excess slats are removed. Then the ladders are detached from the bottomrail, shortened and reattached to the bottomrail. The lift cords are then reconnected to the bottomrail and the clamps are removed. Alternatively, the clamps which grip the ladders and lift cords can be attached to the bottomrail.

摘要： A cord lock and release system for use in a window blind assembly. The system has a stationary member, a locking member and a movable segment. The locking member is positioned so that at least one lift cord can move across a portion of the locking member when the locking member is in an open position. The lift cords will be restrained by frictional contact with the movable and stationary members when the locking member is in a locked position. The locking member is biased towards a locked position. A release linkage is attached to the movable member so that when a force is applied to the linkage the movable member moves the locking member toward the open position.

摘要： This invention relates to a pleated shade, and a method for the manufacture thereof. The shade has two sections forming each rear projecting pleat secured together to form a rear projecting tab. Cord holes are formed in each of the tabs. The rigidity of the pleats may be substantially enhanced by providing double-weld joints for the tabs or by otherwise providing a multiple or continuous bond between the two fabric layers forming the tab. Furthermore, each section of the shade may be formed from a singly pleated section of fabric. A joint used to form a tab may also be used as a splice joint to secure together two pieces of material either for repair of a defective or damaged material, to achieve a desired aesthetic effect or to customize the length or width of the shade. Pleat reversal problems may be overcome by carefully selecting the relative size of the tab and shade sections, by controlling the size and tab positions of cord holes, and by treating the nose pleat to improve its memory. A second piece of material may be positioned behind the first. The second piece of material may have tabs formed in the same manner as the first piece, the pieces of material being hung with the tabs facing each other, and the tabs may be maintained at a predetermined relative position. If the second piece of material is shorter than the first and tabs are simultaneously formed on the two pieces, a prismatic configuration may be achieved.
