    Abstract: Disclosed is a method performed by a node B for providing downlink control information (DCI) to one user equipment (UE) in order to enable communication over a plurality of cells in a communication system, including configuring, by the Node B, a DCI format to be used for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), transmitting, by the Node B, at least one PDCCH in a common search space (CSS), and transmitting, by the Node B, at least one PDCCH in each of a plurality of UE dedicated search spaces (UE-DSSs), wherein a CSS for receiving system information is common to the plurality of cells, wherein the plurality of UE-DSSs are configured for communication with respect to the plurality of cells, respectively, and wherein each of the plurality of cells corresponds to a cell identity which is UE-specific and configured based on higher layer signaling from the Node B.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus method are provided for transmitting uplink information including acknowledgement information in a wireless communication system. The method includes coding, by a terminal, uplink data and the acknowledgement information by using different coding schemes respectively; multiplexing, by the terminal, the coded uplink data and the coded acknowledgement information into the uplink information; and transmitting, by the terminal, the uplink information using resources. At least a portion of the uplink data is transmitted based on a first resource and the acknowledgement information is transmitted based on a second resource. The first resource and the second resource are adjacent to each other with respect to a time domain and a frequency domain. The acknowledgement information is located immediately adjacent to a pilot for the uplink data, and the pilot is used for demodulation of the uplink data.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving at least one Downlink Control Information (DCI) in a communication system supporting Carrier Aggregation (CA) are provided. The method for receiving includes receiving information representative of presence of carrier indicator by higher layer signaling from a Node B; receiving information representative of at least one cell indicator by higher layer signaling from the Node B; defining an UE specific search space based on aggregation level, an UE ID, and at least one carrier indicator value, where the UE specific search space includes a set of Physical Downlink Control CHannel (PDCCH) candidates based on the aggregation level; decoding at least one PDCCH including at least one DCI respectively by the UE ID; and acquiring the at least one DCI, wherein the at least one carrier indicator value is based on the at least one cell indicator.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for transmitting acknowledgement information in response to a plurality of data TBs received on one or more downlink data channels over TTIs by a UE in a TDD communication system. A method includes generating acknowledgement information comprising four acknowledgement bits, jointly representing a state of reception results for the plurality of data TBs, if a first condition applies, wherein a number of the data TBs is greater than a number of the acknowledgement bits; generating acknowledgement information respectively representing a reception result for each data TB by a corresponding acknowledgement bit, if a second condition applies; encoding the acknowledgement bits; multiplexing the encoded acknowledgement bits with uplink data; and transmitting the multiplexed acknowledgement bits and the uplink data on an uplink data channel.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting a set of acknowledgement (ACK) bits, by a user equipment (UE). A first subset of ACK bits is transmitted. A second subset of ACK bits is transmitted. The first subset of ACK bits is a response to a reception of one or more scheduling assignments (SAs) for a first cell group, and the second subset of ACK bits is a response to a reception of one or more SAs for a second cell group. The first subset of ACK bits is different from the second subset of ACK bits. A union of the first subset of ACK bits and the second subset of ACK bits is the set of ACK bits that the UE transmits in a subframe.
