摘要: Controller and method for Handover (HO) based 1×CSFB communicates Calling Party Number (CPN) to User Equipment (UE) a in a cellular communication system. A first solution provides Interworking Solution (IWS) adding CPN sent to target Base Station Controller (BSC) via Mobile Switching Center (MSC) in Interoperability Specification (IOS) HO messages. A second solution provides that IWS sends CPN with Air Interface HO message and stores the CPN until UE transition to the target Radio Access Network and acquires a traffic channel. A third solution provides that IWS receives CPN from MSC with a paging message and stores the CPN until UE transition to the target Radio Access Network and acquires a traffic channel. A fourth solution provides sending AWI message to the target Radio Access Network from the MSC. A fifth solution provides that IWS sends CPN via Feature Notification Message (FNM) data tunneled to UE before the paging message to let user decide whether to accept a call before leaving 3G/4G cellular communication.

摘要: A method (10) of establishing an alternate HRPD signaling link between an HRPD access network and an access terminal over a non-HRPD access is disclosed. It includes: providing (12) a signal forwarding function (SFF) (22) between an access terminal (AT) (24) and a high rate packet data (HRPD) access network (AN) (26); establishing (14) a data tunnel (28) between the access terminal (24) and the SFF (22); exchanging (16) HRPD signaling messages and HRPD data via the data tunnel (28); identifying (18) the HRPD access network (26) and the access terminal (24) over non-HRPD access by the SFF (22), by reading a header with certain identifiers and mapping the header to an address of the access terminal or network; and forwarding (20) the HRPD signaling messages and the HRPD data that arrive at the SFF (22) from the access terminal (24) and the HRPD access network (26) to the HRPD access network (26) and the access terminal (24), respectively. The method (10) performs an initiation and session establishment procedure, minimizes the time, disruption and packet loss during handoff to a HRPD access network and enables seamless mobility.

摘要: An apparatus and method for associating a gateway control session with an Internet protocol connectivity access network (IP-CAN) session comprising receiving an IP address for a home agent/local mobility agent (HA/LMA); receiving an access terminal (AT) network access identifier (NAI); and associating the gateway control session with the IP-CAN session using the IP address and NAI. In one aspect, a policy charging and rules function (PCRF) receives an access point name (APN) information as: a Vendor Specific Option of either an IP control protocol (IPCP) or an IPv6 control protocol, a configuration option in a Vendor Specific Network Control Protocol, or a dynamic host configuration protocol extension for associating the sessions. The PCRF receives an AT IP address allocation and subsequently establishes the gateway control session to associate two sessions. The PCRF receives a correlation identifier in the gateway control session and in the IP-CAN session to associate two sessions.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided that pausing transmission control protocol (TCP) transmissions during or following handover to prevent unwarranted duplicated acknowledgement transmission, which can cause decrease in TCP window size. During handover, transmission on-hold commands can be sent to a TCP layer that indicate to prepare to pause TCP transmissions, immediately pause TCP transmissions, and/or the like. Transmission resume commands can be sent to the TCP layer following handover. In addition, TCP transmissions can be paused following handover to allow data forwarding data to be provisioned to a device from a target base station without duplicated acknowledgement transmission.

摘要: Techniques for IP flow mobility in a wireless data communications system, which allow for selective movement of IP data flows between different access networks supporting different access technology types. An access terminal (AT) is configured to selectively communicate using plural access technologies. Plural IP data flows are established between the AT and a first access network using a first technology type. A flow mobility trigger condition is detected, and in response, at least one IP data flow is moved to a second access network using a second technology, while maintaining at least another of the data flows to the first access network, and using the same IP address for the AT for data flows handled by both access networks, by using a mapping function between packet-filters for data flows and the access technology. The techniques may be used in conjunction with IP mobility protocols such as PMIP and CMIP.

摘要: Providing for call-specific signaling for call-setup on multiple wireless communication systems via a single wireless access network is described herein. By way of example, a communication context for a mobile device can be established on a first radio access network (RAN). Additionally, call-specific signaling for a wireless session to be conducted by the mobile device over a second RAN can be conducted over the first RAN. Such signaling can be done, for instance, in preparation for an application or wireless session not supported by the first RAN. In addition, upon identifying an invitation for such an application or wireless session involving the mobile device, the mobile device can be switched to the second RAN, while session bindings on the first RAN can be maintained, ported to the second RAN, or terminated. Accordingly, the subject disclosure can reduce signaling complexity while integrating services of diverse deployments of wireless networks.

摘要: Disclosed are systems, methods and computer program products for facilitating dynamic addition and release of IP addresses in an established Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIP) sessions, for example, based on the demand of a mobile device. An example method comprises receiving from the mobile device a request to add a second IP interface type to a current communication session associated with a first IP interface type, wherein the second IP interface type is different from the first IP interface type. The method further includes receiving from the home network a set of IP addresses of the second IP interface type and establishing one or more IP flows of the second IP interface type using one or more received IP addresses. The method further includes associating the one or more IP flows of the second IP interface type with the current communication session for the mobile device.

摘要: In a heterogeneous network handover situation, a mobile terminal (110) is initially in wireless communication with a source network (130). The mobile terminal transmits, to a target network (170), a target network overhead update request message (315, 325) containing location information of the mobile terminal and receives, from the target network, a target network overhead update response message (317, 327) containing overhead message information for the target network and optionally other information such as handover willingness, network loading, and QoS availability. The update request and update response messages can be tunneled from the mobile terminal through the source network and the core network to the target network, rather than the messages being sent over-the-air from the target network to the mobile terminal.
