摘要： A dental water jet provides a pressurized water stream for cleaning gums and teeth. The embodiment includes a base unit defining a cavity. The cavity contains a pump, which may move pressurized water from a reservoir to a tip in fluid communication with the pump. A flow control knob may be turned to selectively adjust the water pressure supplied by the tip between a minimum and a maximum value. The reservoir may be removed from the base unit so that it may be filled with the fluid. The reservoir may support a container for storing tips or other items. Fluid may flow from the reservoir and ultimately into the tip to provide oral irrigation and/or cleaning of the teeth, gums, and tongue.

摘要： A dental water jet apparatus for adjusting a pressurized water stream from a pump to a tip moves pressurized water from a reservoir to a tip in fluid communication with the pump. A flow control knob may be turned to selectively adjust the water pressure supplied by the tip between a minimum and a maximum value. When the flow control knob is turned in a first direction, the volume of fluid directed towards the tip decreases and the volume of fluid returned to an inlet of the pump increases. Fluid may flow from the reservoir and ultimately into the tip to provide oral irrigation and/or cleaning of the teeth, gums, and tongue.

摘要： An apparatus for providing a pressurized water stream for cleaning gums and teeth includes a base unit defining a cavity. The cavity contains a pump, which may move pressurized water from a reservoir to a tip in fluid communication with the pump. The pump may be secured within the cavity by at least one vibration reduction mount. Fluid may flow from the reservoir and ultimately into the tip to provide oral irrigation and/or cleaning of the teeth, gums, and tongue. The base may include a plurality of footings that elevate the base unit above a surface supporting the base unit. Also, the base may include a basin for receiving a reservoir. The basin may include a reservoir valve initially biased to a closed position and operationally attached to the reservoir, and a tube projection connected to the base unit and opening the valve when the reservoir is received within the basin. The basin and the reservoir are configured to guide the reservoir valve adjacent to the tube projection.

A flexible tube is coupled to the housing. A method of delivering a substance to a predetermined location in a user's mouth includes disposing a flexible tube between a row of teeth and an interior surface of a cheek. The flexible tube has an exit port positioned in a rear portion of the user's mouth. No portion of the flexible tube is disposed between the upper and lower teeth of the user such that the upper and lower teeth can be closed against each other. The method further includes dispensing a substance through the exit port.

摘要： A dental prophylaxis and water conservation device for in-home use. The device includes a tank coupled to the household water supply line and adapted to receive water which causes air contained within the tank to be pressurized. The water and air from within the tank are connected by lines to a handpiece which discharges both mediums simultaneously. Water leaving the tank passes through a container having an abrasive material which is picked up by the water and also discharged. The tank is further coupled to a plumbing fixture, such as a shower head. This enables the tank to be used as a water conservation device by allowing cold water to be purged from a hot water line into the tank, and subsequently used to provide water to the plumbing fixture. To recycle the purged water, the present invention entrains the water from within the tank as water from the supply line is being provided to the plumbing fixture.

摘要： A pressurized water jet dental hygiene apparatus which connects to a conventional faucet, composed of a two-component coupling, a flexible tube, and a hand held nozzle connected with the flexible tubing. A first component of the two-component coupling is threaded onto a selected faucet. The second component of the two-component coupling is connected with the flexible tubing. In operation, the faucet operates normally when the second component of the two-component coupling is removed. When it is desired to operate the fluid jet dental hygiene apparatus, the second component of the coupling is connected with the first component. Now, when water is turned on, water will squirt out the nozzle with a velocity and volume dependent upon the water pressure delivered at the faucet and relative amount the faucet valve (or valves) is (are) opened. The user then holds the nozzle such as to provide jetable cleansing of his or her dental tissues.

摘要： A free-standing oral hygiene device that is attachable to and detachable from a faucet member with one hand. An elongate flexible hose extends from the device to a hand-held wand which terminates in a nozzle that ejects a jet stream of water onto the teeth and gums of the user. When water pressure exceeds an adjustable preselected threshhold, a pressure relief valve opens so that the gums of the individual are not injured. A retaining clip member is depressed when the device is attached to the faucet, and released. When the retaining clip has been released, it holds the device to the faucet even when the water pressure from the faucet is very high. Removing the device is accomplished by depressing the retaining clip a second time and displacing the device downwardly. It can then be stored on a substantially level support surface as a free-standing unit.

摘要： An oral hygiene apparatus includes means for producing a succession of water pulses at a preselected pressure together with means for delivering those water pulses into a handle shaped to be grasped by the human hand. An elongated nozzle projects outwardly from the handle, manipulation of the handle permitting the water pulses, flowing through the nozzle from the handle, to be directed against the teeth and gums of the user. Included within the handle are means to define a flow path from the delivery means into the nozzle. A valve disposed within the handle is selectively operable to open or close that flow path during the delivery of the water pulses. Also disclosed is the inclusion of an accumulator within the handle for adsorbing the pressure load of incoming water pulses during closure of the valve.
