摘要: Described here are devices, systems, and methods for treating one or more conditions (such as dry eye) or improving ocular health by providing stimulation to nasal or sinus tissue. Generally, the devices may be handheld or implantable. In some variations, the handheld devices may have a stimulator body and a stimulator probe having one or more nasal insertion prongs. When the devices and systems are used to treat dry eye, nasal or sinus tissue may be stimulated to increase tear production, reduce the symptoms of dry eye, and/or improve ocular surface health.

摘要: A tissue expander configured to be worn by a user having a shell having an aperture formed within the shell to receive tissue expanded by a distracting force. The shell has a skirt providing a skin contact surface area against the skin of the patient, the aperture defining an aperture surface area, wherein the skin contact surface area is greater than the aperture surface area, and wherein the skirt is non-fixedly attached to the skin of the patient and slides laterally outwardly.

摘要: An ophthalmic surgical instrument includes an instrument hand grip portion having an elongated configuration with proximal and distal ends, and a tip portion extending from the distal end. The hand grip portion includes a reservoir for containing an irrigation fluid and a button to selectively provide an irrigation fluid (i) through the instrument, or (ii) around the instrument when coupled with an irrigation sleeve arranged around the instrument. The tip portion has the form of an elastomeric element having a base secured to the distal end of the hand grip portion and a free end extending from the base. The free end is configured for massaging the trabecular meshwork and outer wall of the canal of Schlemm in the eye to improve aqueous outflow for the reduction of intraocular pressure.

摘要: An air massager includes an air turbine having an output and a pulsed air generator located downstream of the output. Operation of the air generator alternately allows and restricts air flow from the massager. The pulsed air generator includes a rotor having a first rotor aperture and a remainder of rotor apertures. The first rotor aperture and the remainder of rotor apertures are all of the rotor apertures. The rotor is connected to the air turbine. A stator plate is located vertically below the rotor. The stator plate has a first stator aperture and a remainder of stator apertures. The first stator aperture and the remainder of stator apertures are all of the stator apertures. When the rotor rotates, when the first rotor aperture is aligned with the first stator aperture, none of the remainder of rotor apertures are aligned with any of the remainder of stator apertures, generating pulses.

摘要: The present invention pertains to pneumatic compression articles that implement air-based inflation technology through a built-in network of air bladders. The pressure generated through pneumatic inflation creates adjustable and controlled resistance in addition to the benefits of traditional compression. The network of individual air cells that line the interior of the articles are inflated to create a combination of compression and resistance. This results in vasodilation and more blood flow, thereby promoting an increase in healing stressed or damaged tissue and eliminate soft tissue injury and to help promote the production of collagen production. Features enabling ischemic preconditioning, cryotherapy, and thermotherapy are also implemented. The present invention may also be incorporated into other articles, such as pants and swimsuits.

摘要: Compression garments may include mitts and tightening apparatus to don, or put on, such compression garments. The mitts may be configured to receive a user's hand such that the user can move one or more portions of the garments using the mitts. The tightening apparatus may allow a user to selectively tighten or loosen the garments about the user's body portions. Once donned, the compression garments may apply pressure to one or more regions of the user's body such as, e.g., arm regions, shoulder regions, torso regions, and neck regions.

摘要: A motor-linked blowing and sucking structure and a health care tool using the same, the motor-linked blowing and sucking structure including a cavity tube and a linkage. A swinging vane is disposed in the cavity tube, and a side wall of the swinging vane fits into an inner wall of the cavity tube; one end of the linkage is connected to a drive motor and the other end of the linkage is connected to the swinging vane; the drive motor rotates to drive the linkage; and the linkage as an engagement structure allows a fan-shaped reciprocating motion of the swinging vane within the cavity tube to achieve a higher transmission ratio and a larger torque, such that a larger amplitude of motion can be achieved with the same spatial structure, achieving a more significant air blowing and sucking effect at an opening of the cavity tube.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to systems, devices, and methods of inducing physical effects in tissue, such as dermis, adipose, musculoskeletal, vascular, hepatic tissue, using unfocused or planar, non-cavitating acoustic shock waves. The physical effects include disruption of fibrous extracellular matrix of the targeted tissues. Embodiments of the present disclosure include applying rapid acoustic pulses (e.g., shock waves) to cause a breakdown in the fibrous extracellular matrix to reduce the appearance of cellulite or scars in a treatment area. Such unfocused or planar, non-cavitating acoustic shock waves may induce a tissue reaction, such as reduction of fibrosis, induction of angiogenesis, or lymphangiogenesis.

摘要: A device and method for creating and/or maintain an obstruction free upper airway passage. The device configured to fit under the chin of a subject adjacent to the subject's at an external location corresponding approximately with the subject's internal soft tissue associated with the neck's anterior triangle. The device including structural elements designed to optimize comfort, compliance and seal achieved through minimizing the pressure variation along the contact surface of the cushion element. The structural elements of the cushion may include a fluidly sealed chamber that may vary in thickness and width, a compressible elastic foam contained within the fluidly sealed chamber a ribbon layer backing the elastic foam contained within the fluidly sealed chamber and an adhesive layer disposed on the outer surface of the fluidly sealed chamber of the therapy device designed to contact the skin of the subject.
