    摘要： There is provided an ice maker and a water purifier having the same capable of effectively making ice using two water trays. The water purifier having an ice maker includes a water tray member comprising an ice-making water tray holding ice-making raw water to make ice using an ice-making unit, and an auxiliary water tray holding ice-making raw water remaining in the ice-making water tray in the course of cooling the ice-making raw water by means of the ice-making unit and removing the ice-making raw water from the ice-making water tray; an ice reservoir storing ice made in the ice-making unit; a cold water storage tank cooling water held therein using the ice made in the ice-making unit; and a guide member guiding the ice made in the ice-making unit so that the ice is selectively fed to either the ice reservoir or the cold water storage tank. The ice maker and the water purifier having the came may be useful to improve the ice-making efficiency since residual cooling water cooled in the ice-making water tray is collected in the auxiliary water tray, and re-used to make ice.

The ice maker includes: an ice making tray having a plurality of cells; an ejector disposed at one side of the ice making tray and separating ice within the cells; and a driving motor installed at an upper side of the ice making tray and providing a driving force to the ejector. The size of the ice making tray can be increased in a lengthwise direction to increase the ice making capacity. The ice maker can be suitably installed at an inner side of a door where a horizontal width can be hardly changed.

    摘要： An ice maker includes a refrigeration system for cooling an ice forming surface, a water supply inlet and an inlet valve arranged to selectively admit and prevent admission of water from the inlet. A flow sensor at the inlet valve determines a volume of water admitted through the water supply inlet. An operating position of the water supply inlet valve is based upon input from the flow sensor. A water collecting device receives a supply of water from the water supply inlet through the water supply inlet valve and receives a flow of water from the ice forming surface. A recirculating pump is connected to the water collecting device and to a recirculating passage arranged to direct water toward the ice forming surface. A level sensor at the water collecting device determines a level of water in the water collecting device. A discharge pump is connected to the water collecting device, and the control selectively operates the discharge pump based upon input from the level sensor.

A flow-down type ice making machine 30 is provided with an ice making unit 16 having an evaporation tube 32 windingly disposed therein, an ice making water supply tube 12 disposed above the ice making unit 16 and supplying ice making water, and water spray guides 46 disposed between the ice making unit 16 and the ice making water supply tube 12 and allowing the ice making water supplied from the ice making water supply tube 12 to flow down through guide holes 52 uniformly to the surface of the ice making unit 16. The water spray guides 46 are provided with reception areas 54 opening above towards the ice making water supply tube 12 and receiving the ice making water and slopes 56 formed with downward inclination inside the reception areas 54 to be close to the ice making unit 16 with a lower end thereof facing the guide holes 52. Further, the reception areas 54 are provided with water dischargers 58 discharging the ice making water stored therein.
