摘要: Devices, systems, and methods of enhancing the gameplay of a toy are disclosed herein. For example, the toy can be a remotely controlled vehicle that includes a radio frequency identification (“RFID”) reader, configured to detect signals generated by a plurality of markers with RFID tags. Each marker of the plurality can be arranged such that the markers define a course for the remotely controlled vehicle. Certain markers can be designated as a starting line, a finish line, and “special,” which would enable programmable and variable gameplay features and actions of the remotely controlled vehicle. The remotely controlled vehicle can be communicably coupled to a mobile computing device configured to receive and process signals from the vehicle, display metrics associated with the gameplay, enable immediate functioning of special tag features, display metrics, and generate control codes transmitted to the vehicle, which control certain features in accordance with the programmed gameplay.

摘要: A learning toy which enables learning of high-level programming in a stepwise manner. A movement path is constituted by a plurality of command panels in which command information which can be read with an optical reading module is recorded being arranged. A mobile robot sequentially reads command information included in the command panels through which the mobile robot passes while moving along the movement path and stores a plurality of pieces of command information in a command information memory. The mobile robot takes out a plurality of pieces of command information from arbitrary positions in the command information memory to execute operation. If a plurality of pieces of command information necessary for operation of the mobile robot are stored in the command information memory, a control unit of the mobile robot automatically extracts and takes out the command information and causes the mobile robot to operate.

摘要: To achieve low cost and to provide high durability in a toy system capable of determining a status of a separate toy. The toy system includes a casing, a magnetic sensor, and a determination section. The magnetic sensor is disposed on the casing to detect an orientation and a magnitude of a magnetic field. The determination section determines, based on an output from the magnetic sensor, that one of a plurality of separate toys having magnetic field generation means has approached the magnetic sensor and determines which of the separate toys has approached the magnetic sensor. The magnetic field generation means are mounted individually on the separate toys in such a manner as to generate differently oriented magnetic fields in a standard posture. Alternatively, the determination section determines, based on the output from the magnetic sensor, that a separate toy separated from the casing in which magnetic field generation means for generating a magnetic field is mounted has come into contact with or approached the casing.

摘要: Provided is a self-propelled reading device to read cards more reliably. Each of the cards includes a first end part configured to be adjacent to another card in a predetermined direction; a second end part configured to be on the opposite side of the first end part and adjacent to another card different from the first end part; and a surface printed with a pattern in which are coded coordinates indicating a positional relation relative to a reference line extended in the predetermined direction indicative of a region in which a self-propelled device is to travel. Each of the first and the second end parts has a positioning part regulating how the other card adjacent to the end part is to be placed. The positioning parts and the reference line have a predetermined positional relation therebetween.

摘要: An educational toy (1) includes a self-moving vehicle (10) adapted to move and steer freely on a two-dimensional surface (2) such as a table leaf. A tangible, three-dimensional marker (20) includes at least one RFID tag (21) is used to wirelessly trigger a specific action of the vehicle (10), e.g. turn 90 degrees right, when the vehicle (10) enters a readout range of the marker (20). The marker (20) can be placed freely on the surface (2) and cannot be overrun by the vehicle (10). Thus, the vehicle (10) is instructed to perform a certain action, e.g. take a 90 degrees left turn, using the marker (20). Then, the vehicle (10) moves forward until a next marker (20′) is found from which the vehicle (10) receives its next instruction. This enables the educational toy (1) to teach programming during play, which reduces the risk that a user will lose interest.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for self-righting a remote controlled model vehicle. The method includes determining a current pitch angle and a current angular rocking rate of the model vehicle. The method further includes accelerating or decelerating a mass on the model vehicle based on the current pitch angle and the current angular rocking rate of the model vehicle to create a rocking motion about a first axis by the model vehicle. In addition, the method may include sensing a rotation about a second axis of the model vehicle and imparting a yaw moment to realign the model vehicle to rock about the first axis. The method may also include terminating the self-righting process when the model vehicle is upright.
