The simple structure of the invention is designed according to the principle of optical reflection and features a high resolution, an easy installation, and a convenient production, and the optical viewfinder is extensively used for cameras to substitute a high-cost electronic LCD screen.

    摘要: A “Panoramic Viewfinder” provides an intuitive interactive viewfinder display which operates on a digital camera display screen. This interactive viewfinder provides real-time assistance in capturing images for constructing panoramic image mosaics. The Panoramic Viewfinder “brushes” a panorama from images captured in any order, while providing visual feedback to the user for ensuring that desired scene elements will appear in the final panorama. This visual feedback presents real-time stitched previews of the panorama while capturing images. In one embodiment, the viewfinder display of the Panoramic Viewfinder includes a “mosaic preview” which presents a stitched mosaic preview of the captured images; a live display window representing a “current content” of the camera viewfinder, which is mapped to a matching location within the mosaic preview; and an optional panoramic “cropping frame” overlaid onto the mosaic preview which illustrates a section of the mosaic which will survive a rectangular cropping of the mosaic.

The processor can be programmed to selectively operate during a magnifying glass mode to have a substantially constant level of magnification regardless of focal length. The processor can also be programmed to provide image stabilization (58) during the magnifying glass mode and track image registrations (60) in an X, Y and Z direction. The processor can also be programmed to use motion detection for scrolling a previously captured image.

The viewfinder of the photographing apparatus has a viewfinder body disposed to be drawn inside of the photographing apparatus body and outside of the photographing apparatus body, and a driving unit to drive the drawing-in and drawing-out of the viewfinder body. Moreover, when an outer LCD, which is disposed at an outer part of the photographing apparatus body, is rotated by a predetermined degree in a state that the viewfinder body is drawn outside of the photographing apparatus body, the viewfinder body is automatically drawn inside of the photographing apparatus body. On the other hand, when the outer LCD is rotated on a rotating axis on a plane of the outer LCD and faces an object, the viewfinder body is drawn out again to the outside of the photographing apparatus body. Therefore, the viewfinder of the photographing apparatus can be drawn in and drawn out of the photographing apparatus body in accordance with driving of the driving unit. Accordingly, the appearance of the camcorder becomes more appealing to the eye, and storing and handling of the product becomes easier.
