    Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus has a portable cleaning unit that is removably mounted to the support member. The upright surface cleaning apparatus is operable in a floor cleaning mode, in which the portable cleaning unit is mounted to the support member, and in an above floor cleaning mode, in which the portable cleaning unit, an above floor cleaning wand and a hose are concurrently removed from the support member.

    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a surface cleaning head and an upper portion moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a storage position and a floor cleaning position, the upper portion has upper portion laterally extending members. An above floor cleaning wand is removably receivable in air flow communication with the upper portion. The wand has wand laterally extending members, wherein, when the wand is received in air flow communication with the upper portion and the upper portion is in the storage position, the wand has a lower end and an upper end spaced from the lower end along a wand axis and the wand laterally extending members are positioned above the upper portion laterally extending members. A portable surface cleaning unit is removably mounted to the upper portion wherein, when the portable surface cleaning unit is mounted to the upper portion and the upper portion is in the storage position, the upper portion has lower mounting members which engage the upper portion laterally extending members and upper mounting members which engage the wand laterally extending members.

    Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus comprises a floor cleaning head and an upright section moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head. The upright section has a filtration member housing and a suction motor housing. The filtration member housing has a filtration member, an air inlet, an air outlet, an openable top wall and an openable bottom wall and the suction motor housing has a suction motor and an open top. A pre-motor filter is removably receivable in the open top of the suction motor housing. The filtration member housing is removably positionable on the suction motor housing and the filtration member housing seals the open top of the suction motor housing when the filtration member housing is positioned on the suction motor housing whereby the pre-motor filter is revealed when the filtration member hosing is removed. When the filtration member housing is positioned on the suction motor housing, the air outlet of the filtration member housing faces an upstream surface of the pre-motor filter.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides a method of recycling heat during operation of a plant in which equipment for processing at least two different materials is co-located. The method comprises a first process for processing a first material and a second process for processing a second material. The second material has a melting point that is less than a melting point of the first material. During the first process, the first material is subjected to a first melting process and then subjected to a first cooling process that includes solidification of the first material. During the second process, the second material is subjected to a second melting process and then subjected to a second cooling process that includes solidification of the second material. The method comprises recovering heat from the first cooling process and using at least some of the heat as a heat source for the second melting process.
