摘要： An antimicrobial agent comprising allyl isothiocyanate (AIT) packaged in a packaging material having a structure wherein part of the pores of a porous packaging substrate is filled with, or said pores are partially or entirely narrowed by a resin impervious to AIT vapor, and a method for controlling the AIT vapor release speed comprising enclosing AIT in the above-mentioned packaging material. According to the present invention, the AIT vapor release speed can be controlled, whereby enabling sustained release of AIT vapor and persistent effect of antimicrobial action. In addition, the antimicrobial agent of the present invention can be widely applied to food industries and various other fields where breeding and reproduction of deleterious microorganisms pose problems, since it is economical, compact and easy to use. The method of the present invention can control the release of the AIT vapor to the outside of the packaging material, to a desired release speed, whereby the antimicrobial action is effectively exerted while preventing the pollution of the environment and damages to the objects to be treated with the antimicrobial agent, which are caused by AIT vapor. In addition, the antimicrobial action can be sustained for a long time with a small amount of AIT.

摘要： A blank feeder for feeding blanks. It has a feed table on which a plurality of blanks are stacked, a suction unit provided under the table to suck the lowermost one of the stack downward, a motor-driven first feed rolls mounted in the suction unit and adapted to feed the lowermost blank in contact therewith, and second feed rolls located downstream of the first feed rolls and adapted to be driven at a constant speed. The first feed rolls are accelerated from zero speed to the speed of the second feed rolls before the front end of the blank reaches the second rolls, then driven synchronized with the second feed rolls, and decelerated to zero speed again by the time the next cycle begins. A kicker for pushing out the blank may be provided. The kicker is moved forward so as to be synchronized with the second feed rolls before the front end of the blank reaches the second feed rolls. Once synchronized, this state is maintained until the rear end of the blank gets off from the kicker.

摘要： A process for production of corrugated board using an aqueous adhesive which contains polyvinyl alcohol and clay, or polyvinyl alcohol, clay and water-soluble boron compound, the ratio of clay to polyvinyl alcohol being in the range of 200 to 600 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol, the ratio of water-soluble boron compound being not more than 15 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol, the solid content of the adhesive being 25 to 60% by weight characterized in that(a) a polyvinyl alcohol concentration in the solution excluding solid other than polyvinyl alcohol from adhesive being in the region bounded by the following formulas:Y.gtoreq.-0.0014 X+9.4 (i)Y.ltoreq.-0.0061 X+26.3 (II)200.ltoreq.X.ltoreq.3500 (iii) wherein Y is defined by the following formula: ##EQU1## P=Polyvinyl alcohol content in the adhesive (by weight) W=Water content in the adhesive (by weight) and X is degree of polymerization of polyvinyl alcohol,(b) the viscosity of the adhesive measured by a Brookfield viscometer being from 200 to 6000 centipoises at 85.degree. C., and the rate of increase of the viscosity of the adhesive being in the range of 1.5 to 8 times when the temperature of adhesive is dropped from 85.degree. to 30.degree. C.,(c) the adhesive, of which temperature is 60.degree. to 95.degree. C., being applied onto the flute tips of corrugated medium to manufacture corrugated board,and an aqueous adhesive therefor. The process for production of a corrugated board has excellent effect on heat energy saving characterized in that said corrugated board can be manufactured at high speed without heating after application of the water-base adhesive at a temperature of 60.degree.-95.degree. C., and the adhesive is easy to handle and has improved adhesion property.

摘要： A web cutting control system controlling the speed of a rotary cutter for automatic, continuous and precise cutting of a web fed at a constant speed into predetermined lengths or on the marks on the web. Two transducers generate pulses the number of which corresponds to the web feed length and the rotating angle of the rotary cutter, respectively. Three sensors detect the marks on the web, the completion of cutting, and the arrival of the cutter blades, respectively, to control the flow of signals. A desired cutting length or the distance between the mark detection point and the point of completion of cutting is preset. A reversible counter receives the pulses from these two transducers and the difference signal between the preset value and a reference signal and performs reversible counting thereof, the result of which is used to control the speed of motor for the rotary cutter to bring its speed into synchronization with the web feed speed for accurate cutting.
