Abstract:
A lubricant supplying device used with a solid lubricant, includes a supplying member to supply lubricant taken from the solid lubricant to an object to be supplied with the lubricant, and a remaining amount detecting section to detect a remaining amount of the solid lubricant becoming below a predetermined value. A detection of the remaining amount of the solid lubricant is executed when an operation to supply the lubricant to the object to be supplied with the lubricant stops.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including an image bearing member, a charger, an irradiator, a developing device, a transfer device, a neutralizer, and a varying device is provided. The neutralizer is adapted to neutralize the image bearing member by emitting neutralization light thereto, after a toner image formed on the image bearing member is transferred therefrom. The varying device is adapted to vary an amount of the neutralization light to be emitted to the image bearing member by pulse-width modulation of a voltage to be supplied to the neutralizer. The image forming apparatus satisfies the following formula: f/V>5 wherein f (Hz) represents a frequency of the pulse-width modulation and V (mm/s) represents a linear speed of the image bearing member.
Abstract:
A lubricant supplying device includes a lubricant supplying roller configured to rotate in a certain direction and makes a sliding contact with an image carrier on which a toner image is carried; a solid lubricant arranged to slide in contact with the lubricant supplying roller; a changing unit configured to change a revolution of the lubricant supplying roller to adjust an amount of the solid lubricant supplied onto the image carrier; and a calculation unit configured to obtain a product life or total consumption of the solid lubricant from a total running distance or total operating time of the image carrier or the lubricant supplying roller, the product life or the total consumption of the solid lubricant being corrected based on the amount of the solid lubricant supplied onto the image carrier.
Abstract:
In a small-sized optical pickup device for enabling to obtain a stable servo-signal, as well as, a focus error signal and a tracking error signal, without receiving ill influences of stray lights from other layers, when recording/reproducing a multi-layer optical disc, a reflection light from the multi-layer optical disc is divided into plural numbers of regions by a diffraction grating. And, it is divided into at least four (4) regions, by a division line in the tangential direction of the optical disc and a division line in the radial direction thereof. Light receiving parts, for detecting either one of grating diffraction lights, i.e., a +1st dimensional grating diffraction light or a −1st dimensional grating diffraction light of a light beam entering into the at least four (4) regions, are aligned, nearly, on a straight line in the radial direction of the optical disc, and light receiving parts for detecting the other dimensional grating diffraction light are aligned, shifting, with respect to a direction nearly coincident with a tangential direction of the optical disc.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus including a plurality of image forming devices, a first image forming device in which a leveling blade that functions as a lubricant leveling blade is easily worn away over time uses an obtuse-angle blade as a first leveling blade, and a second image forming device being other image forming device among the plurality of image forming devices uses a right-angle blade as a second leveling blade.
Abstract:
A cleaning unit, which can be incorporated in a process cartridge removably installable in an image forming apparatus, includes a lubricant applicator to apply lubricant to an image carrier, a first blade disposed upstream from the lubricant applicator in a direction of rotation of the image carrier with its distal end held in contact with the image carrier to remove residual toner remaining on the image carrier, a second blade disposed downstream from the lubricant applicator in the direction of rotation of the image carrier with its distal end held in contact with the image carrier to regulate the amount of lubricant applied to the image carrier, a temperature measuring member to measure a temperature of or near the second blade, a heater, and a temperature controller to control the heater to heat the second blade so that the measured temperature falls within a given set temperature range.
Abstract:
An optical pick-up device includes a laser diode, an objective lens for focusing a light beam emitted from the laser diode on an optical disc, an optical detector for receiving a reflected beam from the optical disc, a beam splitter for causing the light beam emitted from the laser diode and a reflected beam to pass therethrough or reflect, a front monitor for receiving the light beam emitted from the laser diode, and a front monitor light-guiding plate for guiding a part of the light beam emitted from the laser diode to the front monitor. The front monitor light-guiding plate is arranged between the laser diode and the objective lens and has a region having a predetermined shape for causing the part of the light incident thereon to change a traveling direction thereof by refraction and then reach the front monitor.
Abstract:
There are disclosed a releasing sheet comprising a substrate and a releasing agent layer which is installed by coating the substrate with a releasing agent liquid containing 1,4-polybutadiene and an antioxidant, and irradiating the coated layer with ultraviolet ray so that the layer is cured; and also a releasing sheet comprising in turn a substrate, an undercoat layer which is formed thereon and is composed of an elastic body, and a releasing agent layer which is installed on the undercoat layer by coating the same with a releasing agent liquid containing 1,4-polybutadiene and an antioxidant, and irradiating the layers with ultraviolet ray so that the layers are cured. Being of non-silicone base, the releasing sheets are excellent in releasability from a tacky adhesive agent layer and adhesiveness to the substrate.
Abstract:
An image projection device includes a projector configured to project an image; and an operation unit configured to receive an operation performed by an operator. The projector is in a projecting state while the operation unit is receiving a pressing operation performed by the operator, and the projector is in a non-projecting state while the operation unit is not receiving a pressing operation performed by the operator.
Abstract:
A charging device is detachably attachable with respect to a body of an image forming apparatus. The charging device includes a charging roller and a cleaning member. The charging roller charges an image bearer. The cleaning member cleans the charging roller. The cleaning member has a higher cleaning performance on the charging roller during detachment in which the charging device is detached from the body of the image forming apparatus than during attachment in which the charging device is attached to the body of the image forming apparatus.
