摘要: A discharging method used in an image forming apparatus includes discharging, with an exposure device, an exposure range of the latent image bearer, and discharging, with a discharger, an area of the latent image bearer outside the exposure range and inside a developing range in a main scanning direction. The exposure range is inside the developing range in the main scanning direction. The discharging with the exposure device and the discharging with the discharger are performed when a rotation of the latent image bearer is stopped after a toner image is transferred from the latent image bearer.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section which forms an image on a paper sheet by using a developer; a fixing section which includes a rotational axis and rotates around the rotational axis so as to fix the image formed on the paper sheet; a transport mechanism which transports the paper sheet on a paper transport route in a transport direction; a transport stop detecting section which detects a transport stop of the paper sheet; a judgment section which judges to which one of an upstream side and a downstream side of the fixing section in the transport direction the paper sheet is removed after the transport stop is detected by the transport stop detecting section; and a control section which controls the transport mechanism to execute a cleaning mode for cleaning the fixing section based on a judgment result of the judgment section.

摘要: An image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes a control unit 111 which performs white paper cleaning by making remaining papers pass through a fixing device in automatic purge of conveying and discharging the remaining papers after an originating paper having caused a jam is removed when the jam has occurred in a paper conveyance path, and display units 115 and 111 which display the number of papers, which is obtained by subtracting the number of the papers having passed through the fixing device by the control unit for the white paper cleaning in the automatic purge from the set number of papers set in advance as the number of papers required to pass through the fixing device in the white paper cleaning, as the number of papers set for white paper cleaning after the automatic purge.

The plurality of permeable members close the respective plurality of the emission ports. The plurality of cleaning holders extend over the plurality of the permeable members adjacent to one another. The plurality of the cleaning holders each have a holding unit that holds at least the two cleaning members. The linear member is connected to the plurality of the cleaning holders. The driving unit causes the linear member to run circularly. The cleaning members each slide on the corresponding permeable member in association with the linear member running circularly. The cleaning holders each connected to the linear member at a center of the holding unit in an extending direction of the holding unit.

A surface of the cleaning medium includes abrasive grains to remove the adherent substances from the cleaning target object by causing the surface of the cleaning medium having the abrasive grains to slide on the cleaning target object while the surface of the cleaning medium having the abrasive grains is in contact with the cleaning target object.

摘要: A cleaning brush is not made slidably contact suctioning endless belts which pass inlets, and the cleaning brush is made slidably contact non-suctioning endless belts which do not pass the inlets. Consequently, it is possible to bring out paper dust and transfer remaining toner which adhere to the suctioning endless belts in attracting areas in which the inlet holes are formed, to the exterior of the apparatus by means of sheets to be conveyed. By contrast with this, from non-suctioning endless belts, the cleaning brush can clean and remove paper dust and transfer remaining toner which adhere to the non-suctioning endless belts.

摘要: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier; an exposure head provided along a longitudinal direction of the image carrier, and exposing the image carrier; a housing holding the exposure head; an opening portion formed in the housing, and opening toward a position through which the image carrier and the exposure head face each other; a receiving portion provided in the housing; and a cleaning member having one and different ends, and including: a cleaning portion provided on a one end side where the one end is located, and cleaning a light-emitting face of the exposure head by moving while keeping in contact with the light-emitting face; and a guiding portion coming in contact with the receiving portion and guiding the cleaning portion toward a space between the image carrier and the exposure head when the cleaning portion is inserted into an interior of the housing through the opening portion.
