A display device includes a pixel circuit unit comprising a plurality of pixels to display an image, a data driver to supply data signals to the pixel circuit unit, a scan driver to supply scan signals to the pixel circuit unit, a black/white transition detector to detect a degree of black/white transition of the image, a gamma corrector to adjust the data signal by providing a gamma value to the data driver, and a timing controller to apply control signals to the data driver and the scan driver, receive the degree of black/white transition from the black/white transition detector, and provide a corrected gamma control signal to the gamma corrector according to the degree of black/white transition.

A binding update method in MIPv6 is provided which includes: a first step of allowing a mobile node to generate a HoTI (Home Test Init) message including a HoA (Home Address) encoded with a product of a first prime number and a second prime number and to transmit the HoTI message to a corresponding node through a home agent along with a first index; a second step of allowing the mobile node to generate a CoTI (Care of Test Init) message including a CoA (Care-of Address) encoded with a product of the first prime number and a third prime number and to transmit the CoTI message directly to the corresponding node along with a second index; a third step of allowing the corresponding node to generate a HoT (Home of Test) message including a first nonce and to transmit the HoT message to the mobile node through the home agent; a fourth step of allowing the corresponding node to generate a CoT (Care-of Test) message including a second nonce and to transmit the CoT message to the mobile node; a fifth step of allowing the mobile node to generate a BU (Binding Update) message by adding the first prime number to the first nonce and the second nonce included in the HoT message and the CoT message and to transmit the BU message to the corresponding node; and a sixth step of allowing the corresponding node to verify the BU message using an exclusive OR operation and a factorization operation in prime numbers with the first prime number and to transmit a BA (Binding Ack) message to the mobile node.

A method and apparatus for packet aggregation in a power line communication network (PLC) are provided. The method of aggregating packets includes: by performing a PLC channel estimation, determining whether or not a channel condition is good; if the channel condition is good, determining whether or not the data desired to be transmitted is suitable for packet aggregation according to the type of data; and if the channel condition is good and the data desired to be transmitted is suitable for the packet aggregation, aggregating packets of the data desired to be transmitted. Since a decision on whether or not to aggregate packets is determined according to a channel condition at a physical level and the type of data at an application level, packet aggregation can be performed in appropriate response to the frequently changing condition of a channel and the characteristic of the data desired to be transmitted.

A method of distributing group identifiers IDs (GIDs) in a power line communication (PLC) network, a method of receiving the GIDs, an authentication apparatus, and a PLC apparatus are provided. The authentication apparatus includes: an authentication mode storing unit which stores an authentication mode having a value including one of an authentication authorized mode and an authentication unauthorized mode; a GID request receiver which receives a GID request message from a PLC apparatus; and a GID transmitter which, if the authentication mode is the authentication authorized mode, transmits a GID corresponding to the PLC apparatus to the PLC apparatus. Authentication is realized in a PLC media access control layer distributing the GIDs between a PLC apparatus and an authentication apparatus, so manually inputting a GID into the PLC apparatus is not necessary. Further, the GIDs are distributed via the authentication apparatus, thereby centrally managing the GIDs.

A network relay apparatus and method are provided. The network relay includes a sub-network interface for communication with a sub-network, a plurality of backbone network interfaces for communication with a plurality of backbone networks, and a control unit for outputting data, which is received from a device included in the sub-network through the sub-network interface, through one of the backbone network interfaces. In the network relay, it is possible to fulfill various requests for communication quality by connecting the sub-network with the plurality of backbone networks.

A data transmission method and apparatus and a data receiving method and apparatus provide for multiple access in a chaotic communication system. The data transmission method includes arranging a template chaotic signal at a predetermined position of a data frame to be transmitted, the predetermined position being allocated to a user, modulating a data source signal using the template chaotic signal and arranging the modulated data source signal in the data frame, and transmitting the data frame.

An apparatus and a method for coordinating synchronization of video and captions by delaying the output of video or captions for a predetermined period of time, or by controlling synchronization information of the caption data are provided. The apparatus for coordinating synchronization of video and captions includes a first decoding unit to decode video data, a second decoding unit to decode caption data, and an output control unit to control the output time of the decoded caption data and the decoded video data according to predetermined control information.

A method, a media renderer device and a media source device for providing content over a network, and a message structure for controlling a real-time transport protocol (RTP) are provided. The method includes transferring a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) control command generated so that content is provided from a media server providing content using a RTP. The HTTP control command can use an HTTP POST command or an HTTP PUT command. When transferring AV content using a RTP, the content is controlled using an existing HTTP not a Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP). Accordingly, a RTP can be more easily supported.
