Abstract: A display device includes a first translucent substrate, a second translucent substrate that is disposed on a display surface side while opposed to the first translucent substrate, and a first light reduction unit that reduces a transmission amount of visible light while overlapping a bright point defect portion in planar view in at least one of the first translucent substrate and the second translucent substrate. The first light reduction unit has a circular shape including a first region disposed in a center and a second region disposed around the first region, and transmittance to the visible light in the first region is higher than transmittance to the visible light in the second region.

Abstract: A display device includes: gate signal lines extending in a first direction; data signal lines extending in a second direction; gate lead lines extending in the second direction and respectively connected to the gate signal lines; pixel electrodes electrically connected to the data signal lines, respectively; and a common electrode opposed to the plurality of pixel electrode. Each one of gate lead lines is disposed between two neighboring ones of the data signal lines. Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, and an electrostatic capacitive type touch panel which is formed in an overlapping manner with the display panel. Abstract: The present invention is intended to control the color temperature of white exhibited by a liquid crystal display device. White is produced when light waves emitted through pixels associated with three colors of red, green, and blue have maximum intensities. The amounts of light emitted through the respective pixels are controlled by differentiating the shapes of the pixel electrodes disposed at the respective pixels from one another. Thus, the color temperature of white is controlled. Otherwise, the shapes of interceptive films disposed at the respective pixels are differentiated from one another in order to control light waves emitted through the respective pixels. Thus, the color temperature of white is controlled. The interceptive film may be shaped like the pixel electrode. Otherwise, the interceptive film may be realized with an interceptive pattern other than that of the pixel electrode or one of openings bored in a black matrix.

Abstract: A column for defining the interval between a TFT substrate and an opposed substrate is formed at a crossing point between a drain line and a scanning line. At the crossing point where the column is formed, the drain line is formed to have a wider width to prevent light leakage. Further, at the crossing point where the column is formed, the scanning line is formed to have a narrower width to prevent increase of capacitance between the drain line and the scanning line. The column is formed at a crossing point corresponding to a specific color, e.g., a blue pixel B, so that a difference in transmittance and in characteristic of thin film transistors due to formation of the column is initially compensated.
