    Abstract: A method for video processing includes determining, based on a first indication, whether a sub-block residual coding scheme is applied to residual of a current video block in a transform skip mode, the sub-block residual coding scheme splitting the residual of the current video block into multiple sub-blocks and a subset of the multiple sub-blocks have non-zero coefficients; determining, based on a second indication, a specific split pattern to be applied to the residual of the current video block, in response to the sub-block residual coding scheme being applied to the residual of the current video block; deriving, based on a third indication, the subset of the multiple sub-blocks which have non-zero coefficients; and performing a conversion on the residue of the current video block based on the determined subset of sub-blocks having non-zero coefficients.

    Abstract: A video processing method is provided to comprise: performing a conversion between a current video block of a video and a coded representation of the current video block, wherein the coded representation conforms to a format rule specifying that a syntax element corresponding to side information of a secondary transform tool for the current video block is signaled in the coded representation before transform related information, wherein the secondary transform tool includes applying, during encoding, a forward secondary transform to an output of a forward primary transform applied to a residual of a video block prior to quantization, or applying, during decoding, an inverse secondary transform to an output of dequantization of the video block before applying an inverse primary transform.

    Abstract: Transform parameter derivation based on block partition is described. In an exemplary aspect, a method for video processing includes determining, for a conversion between a first block of video and a bitstream representation of the first block of video, whether a use of non-power-of-two partition trees (NPT-T) is enabled or disabled, wherein the NPT-T includes splitting the first block to multiple smaller sized child blocks of the first block, and at least one child block's width and/or height have a dimension that is a non-power-of-two integer; and performing the conversion based on the NPT-T in response to the determination that the NPT-T is enabled.
