Abstract:
A trigger sprayer has a nozzle assembly that dispenses a spray of liquid in a fan pattern that is selectively oriented horizontally or vertically. The nozzle assembly includes a nozzle housing and nozzle cap mounted on the nozzle housing, where the nozzle cap is rotatable relative to the nozzle housing to direct a fan spray pattern of liquid from the nozzle cap in both a vertical and horizontal orientation, and prevent the discharge of liquid from the nozzle cap in cap positions between the horizontal and vertical orientations.
Abstract:
An indexing nozzle assembly for a trigger sprayer has a manually rotatable cap mounted for rotation on a liquid spinner of the nozzle assembly. Rotation of a cap changes the nozzle assembly between an off condition, a spray condition, a second off condition, and a stream condition of the liquid discharged from the nozzle assembly. The cap can be rotated from the off position directly to either of the spray or stream positions by rotating the cap one-quarter turn in opposite directions. A spatial relationship between an end surface of the liquid spinner and an interior surface of the cap end wall that surrounds the assembly discharge orifice improves the stream configuration of liquid discharged by the nozzle assembly.
Abstract:
A manually operated liquid foaming dispenser is attached to the top of a container of liquid and is manually vertically reciprocated to dispense the liquid from the container as a foam. The dispenser includes a liquid pump chamber and an air pump chamber that respectively pump liquid and air to a discharge passage of the pump where the liquid and air are mixed, generating the foam dispensed from the dispenser. The liquid dispenser is constructed with three biased closed valves that prevent leakage from a liquid container attached to the dispenser should the dispenser and container be positioned on their sides or be inverted.
Abstract:
A manually operated liquid foaming dispenser is attached to a bottle of liquid and pumps and mixes both the liquid and air to create a foam from the liquid and to dispense the foam. The dispenser includes a pump housing containing an air pump chamber and a liquid pump chamber, and a pump plunger that is manually reciprocated in both the air pump chamber and the liquid pump chamber. An air piston and a liquid piston are mounted on the plunger and are reciprocated by the plunger in the respective air pump chamber and liquid pump chamber. The air piston is mounted on the pump plunger for relative movement of the air piston on the plunger that enables an interior volume of the air pump chamber to be vented to an exterior environment of the dispenser on manual reciprocation of the pump plunger.
Abstract:
A manually operated liquid foaming dispenser is attached to the top of a container of liquid and is manually vertically reciprocated to dispense the liquid from the container as a foam. The dispenser includes a liquid pump chamber and an air pump chamber that respectively pump liquid and air under pressure to a discharge passage of the pump where the liquid and air are mixed, generating the foam dispensed from the dispenser. The air pump chamber has a tube valve controlling the discharge of air from the air pump to the discharge passage, and the air pump chamber is charged with air by opening the air pump chamber to the exterior environment of the dispenser.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a trigger sprayer which is connectable to two container volumes containing separate liquids. The sprayer has a trigger that is manipulated to draw the separate liquids into two separate pump chambers and then supply the two separate liquids from the pump chambers to a discharge passage of the sprayer. In the discharge passage the two separate liquids are mixed together prior to their being dispensed from the discharge passage as a spray.
Abstract:
A container assembly comprising a container for containing a fluid and a container closure. The container includes a neck having a mouth therein for passage therethrough of liquid in the container. The container closure comprises a closure cap portion adapted for releasable connection to the neck of the container. The closure cap portion comprises a generally annular-shaped skirt and at least three lugs extending generally radially inwardly from an inside surface of the skirt. The container further includes at least three bayonet provisions on an outer surface of the neck for matably receiving the at least three lugs of the closure cap portion, the bayonet provisions and the lugs being shaped and configured to releasably lock the skirt of the closure cap portion to the neck of the container.
Abstract:
A manually operated reciprocating liquid pump of the type comprising a plunger that reciprocates vertically in a pump chamber to dispense liquid from a container to which the pump is attached includes a vent opening to vent air to the interior of the container as liquid is drawn from the container by the pump. The pump plunger locks in its vertically downward position in the pump chamber and is provided with a stopper that plugs the vent opening and prevents liquid in the container from passing through the vent opening when the plunger is in its locked position.
