    摘要: In an image processing device for recording images with Y, M, and C color ink, a received Bk image is recorded with a color more similar to an original black color and solves a problem caused by too much amount of ejected ink such as bleeding with other colors or feathering. An image data consisting of four color elements of YMCBk is entered from a host computer, a Bk conversion unit converts the Bk element to respective Y, M, and C elements by masking of respective Y, M, and C elements generated randomly for the entered Bk element image data, and an image synthesizing unit synthesizes the converted YMC elements with the entered YMC elements. Then, an image recording unit for forming an image with three colors of YMC forms an image based on the synthesized YMC elements and records the image on a recording medium with ejecting YMC ink from a recording head.

In addition, a coefficient decision unit decides diffusion coefficients, which diffuse quantization error to neighboring pixels, based upon the value of each of the plurality of color components included in the pixel of interest.

When a color image is binarized, an error is added to a respective one of color components (I0,I1), after which output decision means (2) decides an output value in accordance with the value of the sum in such a manner that the sum of pixel values after conversion will be rendered constant. Error calculation means (3-0, 3-1) calculate differences between pixel values before and after binarization as errors, and error diffusion means (9-0, 9-1) calculate values to be diffused to a neighboring pixel. Weighting coefficients used at such time are decided in accordance with combinations of values of the color components (I0,I1) of pixel values in the original image.     摘要: Multi-valued image data is separated into data in units of nozzle groups of the individual colors of a printhead, and each divided multi-valued image data is converted into n-valued image data consisting of a plurality of bits. Based on the n-valued image data of the corresponding colors, print codes are generated and are transmitted to a printer apparatus. The printer apparatus receives the print codes, stores them in print buffers of the corresponding colors, and generates print data based on the print codes using mask patterns set in correspondence with image data of the individual colors. The print timing in each scan of the printhead is determined in accordance with the significant bit position in the print data, and an image is printed on the basis of the print data by multi-pass printing.
