A protection case for accommodating an electronic device with a display screen includes a soft encasing and a rigid protection plate. The soft encasing defines a receiving space for receiving the electronic device, and includes a side wall. The rigid protection plate is attached to an inner surface of the side wall. The protection plate includes a first surface facing the inner surface of the side wall and a second surface facing the receiving space of the soft encasing. The protection plate defines a recess on the second surface thereof corresponding to the display screen of the electronic device.

A method for managing a plurality of network storages on a computer device includes: receiving login commands in response to the users' operations; simultaneously transmitting a first access request to get read/write authority with respect to the first network storage, and a second access request to get read/write authority with respect to the second network storage in response to the login commands; receiving and combining first information from the first network storage and second information from the second network storage after the first and the second access requests being authorized by the network storages; displaying the combined information on a single graphical user interface.

An optical disk drive includes a spindle motor, a power source, a microprocessor, and a comparator. The spindle motor is for supporting a disk. The power source supplies a first voltage to drive the spindle motor to rotate. The microprocessor signals the power source to supply a second voltage to slow down rotational speed of the spindle motor when receiving a power-off signal. The comparator compares the rotational speed with a predetermined value. The microprocessor signals the power source to stop supplying power to the spindle motor when the rotational speed is smaller than the predetermined value. A controlling method for controlling the spindle motor in the optical disk driver is also provided.

A remote control device and method, the remote control being changeable between an unlocked state and a locked state includes a communicating unit for allowing the remote control device to communicate with and remotely control a controlled apparatus and a processor electronically connected with the communicating unit. The processor is configured for unlocking the remote control device from the locked state, such that the remote control device communicates with and remotely control the controlled apparatus, and is configured for locking the remote control device into the locked state, such that communication between the remote control device and the controlled apparatus is disabled the remote control device cannot remotely control the controller apparatus. A method for preventing accidental operations of the remote control device is also disclosed.

A method for inputting password with a touch sensitive display is provided. The method includes displaying a password array comprising a plurality of characters on a touch sensitive display, the plurality of characters being arranged in a first order, detecting if a permuting signal is received, generating a new password array comprising the a plurality of the characters when a permuting signal is received, the plurality of characters being arranged in a second order different from the first order, and displaying the generated new password array on the touch sensitive display to replace the displayed password array. A password inputting system using the method is also provided.
