Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels connected to a plurality of scan lines; a scan driving circuit, which drives the plurality of scan lines in synchronization with a clock signal; and a driving controller, which outputs the clock signal. While an operating mode is a multi-frequency mode, the driving controller comparts the display panel into a first display area and a second display area. A hold frame of the multi-frequency mode includes a first section during which the first display area is driven, and a second section during which the second display area is driven. The driving controller outputs the clock signal of a normal power mode during the first section and outputs the clock signal of a low-power mode during the second section.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including pixels connected to data lines and scan lines, a data driving circuit which drives the data lines, a scan driving circuit which drives the scan lines, and a driving controller divides the display panel into first and second display regions, controls the data driving circuit and the scan driving circuit to drive the first display region at a first driving frequency and to drive the second display region at a second driving frequency lower than the first driving frequency, and sets third driving frequencies respectively corresponding to horizontal lines in a boundary region, which is defined by a portion of the second display region adjacent to the first display region, during a multi-frequency mode. Each of the third driving frequencies has a frequency level between the first driving frequency and the second driving frequency.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel including a pixel to display an image based on input image data, a driving controller which determines a driving frequency of a first display area of the display panel to be a first driving frequency and determines a driving frequency of a second display area of the display panel to be a second driving frequency less than the first driving frequency when the first display area displays a moving image and the second display area of the display panel displays a still image, and an emission driver which outputs a moving image emission signal corresponding to the first driving frequency and a still image emission signal corresponding to the second driving frequency to the display panel. A width of a non-emission period of the still image emission signal is greater than a width of a non-emission period of the moving image emission signal.

The masking circuit outputs a second scan signal to a second output terminal in response to the first control signal and the second control signal and is connected to an input terminal to which a masking signal is supplied.

Abstract: A method of obtaining overdriving data includes providing a first data voltage corresponding to a current line reference gray level to a second pixel for first and second data writing times for first and second pixels in a first frame, measuring first luminance based on the first data voltage, applying a second data voltage corresponding to a previous line reference gray level for the first data writing time in a second frame, providing a third data voltage of an overdriving voltage corresponding to a predicted overdriving gray level added to the first data voltage for the second data writing time in the second frame, measuring second luminance based on the third data voltage, and determining an overdriving value corresponding to a reference gray level pair of the current and the previous line reference gray level as the predicted overdriving gray level when the first and second luminance are the same.
