    Abstract: A method of gain step calibration by a user equipment (UE) includes selecting, a l th antenna path having a gain GT for a transmitter (Tx) of the UE and a corresponding m th antenna path having a gain GR for a receiver (Rx) of the UE; determining, a first loopback signal power for the l th antenna path having the gain GT for the transmitter (Tx) of the UE and the corresponding m th antenna path having the gain GR for the receiver (Rx) of the UE; determining, a second loopback signal power for the l th antenna path having a gain G′T for the transmitter (Tx) and the corresponding m th antenna path having the gain GR for the receiver (Rx); and determining, a transmitter gain step of the UE based on the first loopback signal power and the second loopback signal power.

    Abstract: A system, method, and electronic device for compensating in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) mismatch (IQMM) are herein disclosed. The system includes an IQ mismatch compensator (IQMC) configured to compensate for IQMM between a time-domain I signal and a time-domain Q signal using filter weight coefficients, and output a compensated I signal and a compensated Q signal, a fast Fourier transformation (FFT) circuit configured to perform an FFT on the compensated I signal and the compensated Q signal to a frequency-domain compensated signal, and a coefficient updater configured to update the filter weight coefficients based on a frequency-domain observation of the frequency-domain compensated signal.

In some embodiments, the method includes: generating a plurality of training points, based on a predefined distribution, each training point being a channel vector; generating, for each of a plurality of codewords, a respective initial value; assigning, in a first assignment operation, each of the training points to a respective desired codeword, the desired codeword maximizing a metric function of a beamforming gain for the training point over the codewords; updating, in a first updating operation, each of the codewords according to the training points assigned to it; and determining whether convergence is achieved; and in response to determining that convergence is achieved, determining a final codebook.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided in which a processor of a receiving apparatus regenerates time domain samples of an interfering data numerology from frequency domain received signals. The processor performs pre-fast Fourier transform (FFT) processing of a desired data numerology on the regenerated time domain samples of the interfering data numerology. The processor performs FFT, with a size corresponding to the desired data numerology, on the regenerated time domain samples after performing pre-FFT processing to generate an interfering numerology cancelation signal. The processor subtracts the interfering numerology cancelation signal from a frequency domain received signal of the desired data numerology to reduce an effect of interference of the interfering data numerology on the desired data numerology.
