Abstract:
An information recording/reproducing apparatus for an information storage medium comprising sectors each having a data area composed of a read-only data area and a writable data area. Data in the read-only data area are formed through pressing or the like, and when the data in the read-only data area are to be renewed, renewed data are recorded in the writable data area so that it is made possible to form a large quantity of correctable read-only data.
Abstract:
A musical-tone-generating-control apparatus including a number of musical-tone-signal-generating channels, each of which generates musical-tone signals having tone pitches designated by tone-pitch information and having tone colors determined by tone-color information. These tone-pitch information and tone-color information are supplied to a musical-tone-signal-generating channel selected by predetermined rules. One of the rules is that a newly entered key-code is assigned to a musical-tone-signal-generating channel which has been generating a musical-tone signal whose tone color is the same as that of the newly entered key-code. Thus tone-color-control parameters need not be transferred to the channel, and this saves time necessary for the transfer, resulting in a speeding up of processing. Other similar rules are also used resulting in similar advantages.
Abstract:
An axial flow fan has a casing having an air flow passage therein which terminates at one end in an air inlet port and at the other end in an air outlet port. A hub carrying fan blades is rotatably disposed within the casing and rotationally driven by a motor contained interiorly of the hub. A set of stays support the motor and hub on the casing. Projections are provided on the casing and/or hub in the region of the outlet port to effectively divide air swirls which tend to form at the outlet port into smaller size swirls thereby reducing energy losses and improving efficiency.
Abstract:
In a vehicle which is provided with a power steering device having an oil passage or an oil chamber whose pressure increases to a high level as a steering angle becomes large; and a damper device consisting of a cylinder filled therein with a working oil and a piston fitted slidably in the cylinder to divide the interior thereof into upper and lower oil chambers, the damper device being adapted to damp the relative movements of a chassis and a wheel support member, the damper device is characterized in that it is provided with a variable throttle mechanism interposed between the upper and lower oil chambers and operable to increase its degree of restriction in proportion to the rise of pressure in the oil passage or oil chamber of the power steering device. This simply constructed device is obtained at a low cost and enables the damping force to vary continuously without use of sensors and processor.
Abstract:
An electronic timepiece having a stepping motor which can be driven at a normal frequency and at a relatively faster correction frequency includes a manually actuable switch and circuitry responsive to two successive actuations of the switch within a first predetermined time period for effecting a change in the motor drive from the normal frequency to the correction frequency and responsive to a third actuation of the switch after a predetermined time period from said change, to return the motor drive to the normal frequency.
Abstract:
The impulse signal producing device comprises a rotatable sleeve which has several small holes and/or slots, a supply body which is formed with air ejecting openings at positions inside the rotating paths of the small holes and/or slots, and a receiving cover which is formed with output ports at positions corresponding to the air ejecting openings. The slot is extended in the circumferential direction of the rotatable sleeve, and one end of the slot in the rotating direction is arranged on the same generating line of the rotatable sleeve as that including the position of the small hole. Air ejected from the openings passes through the small hole and slot of the rotatable sleeve and flows out of the output ports, to produce output pulses. By varying the length of the slot in the circumferential direction, the pulse width can be varied. By varying the arrangement of the small holes and slots, it is possible to vary the phases of the output pulses or to produce several pulses at the same time.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes circuitry that converts user voices that are input into a string of characters reflecting a statement made with the user voices, retrieves one or more items of information related to the string, stores the information being retrieved associated with identification information indicating a retrieval time when the information is retrieved, draws a graphical image including the information being stored on a projection target image to be projected by a projector, and controls the projector to project the projection target image including the graphical image, the graphical image having a size that is determined in accordance with the identification information associated with the information included in the graphical image being projected.
