摘要: A heating device includes a first rotator and a second rotator that contacts the first rotator to form a nip between the first rotator and the second rotator. A heater heats at least one of the first rotator or the second rotator. A first support frame supports one lateral end of the first rotator and the second rotator in a longitudinal direction of the first rotator and the second rotator. A second support frame supports another lateral end of the first rotator and the second rotator in the longitudinal direction of the first rotator and the second rotator. An incompatible member is mounted on the first support frame.

摘要: A fixing device includes a fixing rotator rotatable in a predetermined direction of rotation and an opposed rotator disposed opposite the fixing rotator to form a fixing nip therebetween through which a recording medium bearing a toner image is conveyed. A heater is disposed opposite the fixing rotator to heat the fixing rotator. A nip formation pad is disposed opposite an inner circumferential surface of the fixing rotator. The nip formation pad includes a base, a first thermal conductor sandwiched between the base and the fixing rotator and having a first thermal conductivity greater than a thermal conductivity of the base, and a bulge projecting from the first thermal conductor toward the opposed rotator at a downstream end of the first thermal conductor in a recording medium conveyance direction.

摘要: A heater is operable with a main power supply unit and a chargeable auxiliary power supplying unit. The heater includes a heater part having one or a plurality of heater elements to receive power from the main and auxiliary power supplying units, a detecting part to detect information related to the heater part, and a controller to vary an amount of power supplied from the auxiliary power supply unit to the heater part per unit time based on the information detected by the detecting part.
