The present invention provides a device for biological wastewater treatment which prevents flotation and deformation of mesh tubes packed in a reactor tank as microorganism retaining materials. Device for biological water treatment 10 of the present invention comprises reactor tank 11; microorganism retaining media 12, which are installed in the tank; and air diffuser tubes 14, and wastewater distributor tube 16, both of which are installed under the microorganism retaining media. The microorganism retaining media comprise supporting media 22 and mesh tubes 24, which are installed on the supporting media. The supporting media are constituted in a manner that at least two the beams 26 are arranged on each supporting tier in parallel at certain intervals and the direction of the arrangement of the beams is alternately shifted by an angle of 90 degrees at every supporting tier. Also, the supporting tiers are piled in a manner that a space between two adjacent supporting tiers is enough for arranging mesh tubes on a supporting tier. The mesh tubes on each supporting tier are supported by beams of said supporting tier and arranged in parallel with beams on the adjacent tier.

An apparatus to detect the amount and direction of rotary motion for use in a vibration compensation system in an optical camera. An indicator disk is provided around the output shaft of a motor which actuates a compensation lens to compensate for vibrations to the camera. The periphery of the indicator disk is provided with a series of holes. A pair of photodetectors, are arranged on the periphery of the disk so as to detect the holes passing thereunder. The two photodetectors are separated by a distance equal to 3/4 of the distance between two holes. By comparing the pattern of signals emitted by the photodetectors the direction of rotation of the indicator disk can be determined. Further, the pulses in the output of either photodetector can be counted to determine the amount of movement. The actual direction and amount of movement as calculated is provided to a vibration compensation circuit as feedback for use in controlling the compensation lens.

A camera has an exposure device for effecting a photographing operation on a film in response to manipulation of a member, and a self-timer for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation after the counting of a predetermined time. The self-timer has a first state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation only once and a second state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation plural times. The camera comprises a first display for indicating that the self-timer is in an operable state, a second display for indicating that the exposure device functions plural times in response to the manipulation of the number, independently of the self-timer, and a control device for controlling the first and second display. The control device is adapted to only activate the first display in the first state of the self-timer and to activate both the first and second displays in the second state of the self-timer.

A camera is equipped with a photographic lens and a drive for moving the lens relative to the camera body. If an external or other force prevents the lens from moving to a prescribed position within a set time interval, for example, the drive changes the drive speed of the lens from a first-drive speed to a slower, second drive speed. When the external or other force is removed and normal movement of the lens again is possible, the drive changes the drive speed of the lens from the slower, second drive speed to the first drive speed, without requiring complicated restorative action on the part of the operator. Thus, damage to the drive and other components of the camera is prevented, without complicating operation of the camera.

A vibration compensation device for detecting vibration in an optical system, particularly vibration of a camera caused by hand tremor, during light measurement or during focal point adjustment information detection, and minimizing the effect of vibration by repeating light measurement or focal point adjustment information detection. The vibration compensation device includes a photographic lens, angular velocity detection circuits, a decision unit including a CPU, a light measurement device, an autofocus (AF) device, motor drive circuits, motors, and lens position detection circuits. Light measurement is performed using the light measurement device and focal point adjustment information detection is performed by the AF device when a release button is pressed halfway. Light measurement or focal point adjustment information detection is repeated as if vibration is detected by angular velocity detection circuits during light measurement or during focal point adjustment information detection. If vibration is not detected during a measurement or detection operation before a specified number of repetitions is performed, the light measurement value or focal point adjustment information detection value at that time is adopted. If vibration is detected during each of the specified number of repetitions, the light measurement value or the focal point adjustment information detection value is determined based on the average value of the light measurement values and the average value of the focal point adjustment information detection values, respectively. In alternative embodiments, photography may be prohibited when vibration is detected during each of the specified number of repetitions; photography may be prohibited until the release button is pressed again; or the last light measurement value or focal point detection information value may be used.

A scroll type compressor which includes a compression unit, a crankshaft having an oil passage therein, and an electric motor stator having an oil return hole. An oil pump feeds oil into the oil passage of the crankshaft, and an oil drain tube receives return oil from the compression unit and feeds the oil to the oil return hole of the electric motor stator. The drain oil tube advantageously includes an upper nonflexible drain opening which receives oil from the compression unit. The oil then passes through a nonflexible portion which includes a bend or bent portion, and then to a flexible portion which extends from the elbow into the oil return hole of the electric motor stator.

A camera is capable of displacing a phototaking optical system in the direction of the optical axis by a drive source such as motor and setting the optical system to a plurality of positions. The camera includes a photo-taking optical system, photographing position setting means producing a command signal, a drive source, position detecting means outputting a position signal corresponding to the position of the photo-taking optical system, discriminating means for discriminating the direction of movement of the phototaking optical system, and control means for stopping the drive source and setting the photo-taking optical system at a position corresponding to the command signal as soon as the position indicated by the position signal coincides with the position indicated by the command signal when the discriminating means is discriminating a predetermined first direction of movement, stopping the drive source at a position beyond the position indicated by the command signal and then driving the drive source so that the photo-taking optical system is moved in the first direction when the disciminating means is discriminating a second direction of movement differing from the first direction of movement, and stopping the drive source and setting the photo-taking optical system at the position corresponding to the command signal as soon as the position indicated by the position signal coincides with the position indicated by the command signal.
