摘要: The interference between the dot arrangement pattern used for binarizing an image and the mask pattern for processing the dot arrangement pattern can be reduced and the well dispersed dot arrangement can realized by using the mask pattern. Specifically, in creating the mask, repulsive potential between the mask and the plane of dots arrangement pattern is calculated. That is, when the arrangement of print permitting pixels in the mask is determined, repulsive potential between print permitting pixels and dots on the plane of the dot arrangement pattern is calculated and print permitting pixels are arranged on the position where energy is the lowest and most dispersed. This enables print permitting pixels to be well dispersed in overlapping of the dot arrangement pattern and the mask. Consequently, as to dots formed by mask-processing and each scanning, their number is not unequally high in a specific scanning and dots are well dispersed.

摘要: A color filter manufacturing apparatus can manufacture a color filter with less color unevenness in a short period of time. The color filter manufacturing apparatus forms an array of colored portions of a color filter by discharging a plurality of inks from a plurality of discharge orifices at a predetermined density by using an ink-jet head having a plurality of discharge orifices, an ink chamber connected to the plurality of discharge orifices, an ink supply opening for supplying ink to the ink chamber, and an ink exit opening for exiting ink from the ink chamber. The color filter manufacturing apparatus comprises an ink flow generating device for generating a flow of ink from the ink supply opening to the ink exit opening in the ink chamber while discharging ink from the discharge orifices for coloring. The colored portions are formed when a variation rate of ink volume discharged from the plurality of discharge orifices for forming the array of colored portions is ±3% or less.

摘要: A nozzle use range and a nozzle nonuse range are set in nozzles of a print head. In a forward direction printing in the first pas, printing is performed by the use nozzles thus set. After the first pass is performed, a print medium is conveyed by a nozzle arrangement length of the nozzle nonuse range in a conveyance direction. Along with it, the nozzle use range and the nozzle nonuse range for the second pass are set by shifting the nozzle use range. The backward direction printing in the second pass is performed in the nozzle use range thus set. Printing in an area having a width equivalent to a nozzle arrangement length of the use nozzles can be completed by the two passes in the forward and backward directions. A raster in the area to be printed is printed by the two different nozzles.

摘要: The present invention provides a mask for divided printing that completes an image by plural scans using inks of different plural inks, the mask being able to suppress possible grains during printing to reduce image degradation resulting from beading. If for example, among the print permitting pixels for which the total repulsive potential is to be calculated, a print permitting pixel Do has the highest total repulsive potential, changes in repulsive potential after movement of the pixels are determined and the print permitting pixel Do is moved to a pixel having the lowest total repulsive potential after the movement. This processing is repeated to enable a reduction in the total energy of the entire plane. Consequently, the print permitting pixels are appropriately dispersed in overlapping plane masks so as to have few low frequency components.

摘要: 17-valued data of a pixel in a multi-valued image is divided into two divisions for a two-pass printing, obtaining the division data. Next, by using an index pattern where arrangements of the numerals of 1 to 16 are dispersed, each dot data of C, M and Y in the division data is arranged. First, six dot data of C are assigned to the respective minor pixels of the numerals of 1 to 6 in accordance with a value of C1=6. Next, four dot data of M are assigned to the respective minor pixels of the numerals of 7 to 10 in accordance with a value of M1=4. Further, one dot data of Y is assigned to the minor pixel of the numerals of 11 in accordance with a value of Y1=1.

摘要: A data processing apparatus includes a mask processor for performing a mask process for binary data, which is obtained by a binarization process using a dot arrangement pattern, by using mask patterns having print permitting pixels to generate binary data used for each of a plurality of scans of a print head to a same area of a print medium. An arrangement pattern of pixels that correspond to both of first data representing the print permitting pixels in at least one of the mask patterns and second data representing pixels to which dots are printed in the dot arrangement pattern satisfies the characteristics of (a) power spectrums of a low frequency region are smaller than power spectrums of a high frequency region, and (b) a peak of the power spectrums does not exist in a region lower side of half of the low frequency region.
