    摘要: A self-cleaning mounting system for a ground roller assembly to be used on a mower such as a flail mower including a stationary sleeve bearing positioned on mounting shafts extending from either end of the ground roller. The stationary sleeve bearing is positioned in a housing which is vertically positionably with respect to the mower housing. The housing includes a stationary helical flight and a seal guard which fits within the ground roller. The stationary sleeve bearing is protected on either end from dirt and debris getting between the inside surface of the stationary sleeve bearing and the outside surface of the mounting shafts on either end of the ground roller.

The height-of-cut adjusting system includes a first frame; a second frame; a cutting reel supported by the second frame; a bedknife arranged adjacent to the cutting reel and supported by the second frame; at least one support element arranged to translate along the ground and arranged to support the first frame; and at least one first actuator connected between the first frame and the second frame and arranged to adjust the relative elevation of the second frame with respect to the first frame. The reel-to-bedknife clearance adjusting system includes at least one second actuator operatively connected between the reel and the second frame and a sound detector. DC electric rotary motors assemblies may be used to set the reel-to-bedknife gap and height-of-cut for the reel cutting unit. The DC electric rotary motors may be precisely controlled using position feedback sensors such as gear tooth sensors, and techniques known as pulse width modulation and/or “nudging.”

    摘要: A user interface and control system for adjusting the reel of a cutting reel unit includes a frame supported by at least one support element that is supported on, and is movable along, the ground. The system also includes a cutting reel, a bedknife, first and second actuators, a controller, and an operator input station, all carried on the frame. The reel and bedknife define a cutting line therebetween. The first actuator is adjustable to set a clearance between the reel and the bedknife. The second actuator is operatively connected between the frame and the bedknife to adjust the elevation of the cutting line to set a height-of-cut of the cutting reel. The controller is signal-connected to the first and second actuators, to adjust the actuators. The operator input station is signal-connected to the controller, the operator input station including a keypad portion and a display portion, wherein the clearance and the height-of-cut are indicated on the display portion and the clearance and the height-of-cut can be selectively changed via the controller by operator input to the keypad portion.

The roller or other bearing surface of the riser attachment thus elevates a cutting reel of the mower slightly to provide a second cutting height for the mower. This second cutting height can be adjusted through height adjusters which control a distance that the arms extend into the cavities of the brackets. Levers are rotatable to secure or release the arms within the cavities.

    摘要: The present invention provides an improved height adjustment apparatus for controlling the operational height of lawnmowers and other turf maintenance equipment without the use of tools or removal and replacement of mechanical hardware. In one embodiment, the height adjustment apparatus includes a frame bracket that is attached to the frame with no relative movement therebetween, and a threaded rod threaded through the frame bracket. A nut is to the upper end of the rod. A swivel head is rotationally attached to the lower end of the rod, with the swivel head being attached to a ground contacting support. The apparatus further includes a socket configured to slidably receive the nut and the frame bracket. A biasing means is provided for slidably biasing the socket into a non-rotational aspect relative to the frame bracket. The height adjustment operation is initiated by slidably disengaging the socket from the frame bracket allowing the socket, nut and threaded rod to be rotated in the selected direction. The rotation of the threaded rod causes the rod to engage the threads of the frame bracket, resulting in the rod being screwed further in or out relative to the fixed position of the frame bracket. The movement of the rotating rod causes the distance between the frame bracket, and thus the frame itself, and the swivel head to change, thus changing the height of the operational unit relative to the ground contacting support and either increasing or decreasing the grass cut.

    摘要: An improved snap-on height adjustment spacer clip is provided for height adjustment of wheeled frames including at least one ground-engageable wheel assembly. The snap-on clip includes a pair of mutually opposed, resiliently spreadable arms integrally connected at one end and disconnected at the opposite end. The clip arms are sized for embracing the spindle portion of the wheel assembly when installed, and are sized to permit the arms to yieldably flex toward and away from one another as the spindle passes transversely between the arms during installation and removal of the clip.
