The present invention 10 discloses a main housing 28 having a slide track 30 with slide plate 22 attached above the interior orifice 32 of the release spout 24. Riding within the slide track 30 is a slide plate 22 controlled and operated by an external spring handle 26. The spring handle 26 consists of a pin 20 and lock device 40 in which the removable slide plate 22 is held captive. When the spring handle 26 is squeezed, the removable slide plate 22 is extracted from blocking the interior spout hole 32 allowing the batter to be released and then the spring handle pushes the slide plate back, riding within the track 30, in a closed position over the interior spout hole blocking the flow of the batter. The main housing 28 has a sanitary lid 16 that provides access to the interior of the housing to fill or for cleaning. Mounted to the exterior of the main housing are two stand adapters 18 which provide for attaching a four legged stand 44. The stand 44 snaps into the stand adapter 18 raising the main housing 28. The stand 44 has rubber caps 48 that fit over the end of its legs 46 thereby preventing sliding. The main housing 28 also has a removable spout 24 having mating threads 36, 38 allowing attachment to the main housing.

The apparatus comprises a dough hopper (11) having a valve chamber (12) at its lower end into which dough from the hopper is metered and from which dough is eventually discharged by a valve unit (14). In the preferred embodiment, a dough former (72) is attached to the valve unit and is used to dispense multiple charges of dough. The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of irregularly trimmed waffle, mainly cheese waffle from batter which has preferably been made as follows: eggs are mixed with milk, melted cheese and flavoring additives to a homogeneous mixture. Then flour and melted fats are added to the mixture with continuous mixing and finally liquid is added until it is diluted to the required consistency. Portions are taken from the resulting batter to be baked between baking plates which form only the sides of the waffle and leave the edges free. The apparatus has baking irons consisting of heatable and closable pairs of baking plates. The baking plates (2a, 2b) of the baking irons (2) have a functional surface forming the sides of the waffle but leaving its edges free. A device (50, 51) for forwarding the baking irons (2) on an endless path, to which device the lower baking plates (2b) of the baking irons (2) are fixed. The upper baking plates (2a) are in coaction with the opening and closing cams (3, 5) in certain sections of the path of motion. In the path of motion between the opening and closing cams (3, 5) waffle removing unit (7) coacts with the lower baking plates (2b), and a feeding device (6) is arranged after the removing unit (7) in the downstream direction of the path of progress (C) of the baking irons (2) which feeding unit supplies the lower baking plates (2b) of the open baking irons with portions of raw material.
