摘要： The invention relates to a safety runner used in umbrellas. The runner is provided with an elongated gap on its side surface and a resilient tab located outside the gap and extending downwardly from the runner base. The resilient tab has a raised portion formed on its internal surface. Users can depress the resilient tab to inwardly move a hook of the umbrella and so the runner can move downwardly with ease. The runner is an integrally molded part that has the advantages of simplified construction and safety in use.

摘要： An umbrella frame shaft assembly includes a hollow shaft, a spring piece fastened in the upper segment of the shaft, a runner fitted slidably over the shaft, and a sleeve fastened with the runner. The spring piece has an upper retaining projection and a lower retaining projection. The runner has two retaining holes. The sleeve is provided in the inner wall thereof with two retaining recesses. When the umbrella is being unfolded, the runner is moved upwards along the shaft by the sleeve such that the upper and the lower retaining projections of the spring piece are located by the retraining holes of the runner and engaged with the retaining recesses of the sleeve. When the umbrella is being folded, the upper and the lower retaining projections of the spring piece are forced by the sleeve into the hollow interior of the shaft to allow the runner to be moved downwards by the sleeve.

摘要： The invention relates to a dual locking mechanism for umbrella handles that is provided inside an umbrella handle to engage the locating hole of an umbrella runner. Normally, the locking mechanism is used as the securing means to hold the runner in a position where the umbrella is close. If the umbrella will be kept in a storage place for a long duration, users can further press the runner into the handle to alter the umbrella to its most compact configuration thereby saving space and providing convenience of storage.

摘要： An umbrella includes: a central shaft having an upper engaging sleeve member generally cylindrically shaped formed on an upper portion of the shaft and a lower engaging sleeve member generally cylindrically shaped formed on a lower portion of the shaft, and a C-shaped retaining ring expansibly held in a runner which is pivotally secured with a stretcher rib pivotally connected to a top rib pivotally secured to an upper notch formed on a top portion of the umbrella, whereby upon an upward movement of the runner to extend the stretcher rib and top rib for opening the umbrella and upon an expansion of the C-shaped ring to be retained on the upper engaging sleeve member, the umbrella will be opened steadily; and upon a folding of the ribs by lowering the runner and upon the expansion of the C-shaped ring to be retained on the lower engaging sleeve member, the umbrella will be closed steadily.

摘要： An improved opening lock for use in a sunshade or a parasol which is housed in a cavity defined on the shaft of the sunshade. The present opening lock has a stop block having a smoothly curved guide bottom at the front end and a bias spring disposed behind the stop block and a fixing element for mounting the spring, and a cover plate which confines the stop block and the spring and the fixing element inside the cavity so that the runner of the sunshade slidably disposed on the shaft is able to move against the lock, pushing the lock into the cavity when the runner traveling upward to make the sunshade open, and the stop block is able to pop out when the runner passing the same and to support the runner in place, keeping the sunshade opened. To close the sunshade, the stop lock must be pushed into the cavity to permit the runner slide downward.
