摘要： An umbrella has a plurality of ribs attached to a runner by main struts. The umbrella has an anti-inversion mechanism formed of a plurality of anti-inversion struts. Each anti-inversion strut is pivotally coupled to one respective main strut and is pivotally connected to a floating joint member that is freely movable along a length of one respective rib. The anti-inversion mechanism also includes a stop that is fixedly attached to the rib and restricts the degree of travel of the floating joint member along the rib and is positioned to prevent the respective rib from inverting in response to an applied force.

By mating engagement between cammed and camming surfaces of the retained member and the sleeve member, when the sleeve member is moved downwardly, the actuated region is pressed against a biasing action to retreat inwardly to sweep the retaining region away from the abutment wall to thereby permit downward movement of the runner.

摘要： An umbrella frame provides a stable and enduring support for an umbrella canopy while also allowing canopies of varying shapes and sizes to be mounted thereto. The umbrella frame includes a hub assembly, namely, a main hub member mounted about a central pole member of the umbrella frame which offers improved means for attaching brackets thereto which are structured to pivotally receive a plurality of strut members therein, which strut members are, in turn, pivotally secured to a plurality of rib members interconnected with an upper, secondary hub. The main hub member of the present invention preferably includes an upper portion, a lower portion, and a channel having at least one ledge formed therebetween, with a band formed from a flattened strip of metal secured within the channel about the hub member. The channel is formed to have the same general height dimension as the brackets, which are secured to the band and the hub member and are confined within the space defined by the channel so as to prevent rotation or twisting thereof. As such, the present invention provides for an umbrella frame which is more sturdy and durable and yet, which allows the size and shape of the attached canopy to be readily varied.

摘要： An adjustable support tool for either vertical or horizontal mounting. The adjustable support tool comprises a rod slidably received by a tube. The rod has depressions formed thereon. A threaded portion is coupled to the tube and a hand grip tightener is turnable engaged to the threaded portion for adjusting their overall length. A ratchet housing is resiliently engaged to the hand grip tightener. The ratchet housing has a ratchet for securerly engaging to one of the depressions, a wheel spring for rollably engaging to another one of the depressions, a safety lock pivotally engaged to the ratchet housing for prevent access to the ratchet when locked. When the rod is slided, the wheel spring pushes up the ratchet from its underside to loosen its engagement. The loosened ratchet allows the rod to slide more smoothly, while protecting the painted surface on the rod. Both the ratchet and threaded portion provide adjustment to the overall length of the support tool.
