摘要： The tree stump grinder assembly (12) includes a drum (176) with end flanges (178 and 180) and a central flange (182). A left hand stub shaft (102) is journaled in the drum (176) by spaced apart roller bearings (122 and 124), a bearing hub (126), and a circular plate (160) attached to an end flange (178). A right hand stub shaft (212) is journaled in the drum (176) by spaced apart bearings (218 and 222), a bearing hub (224) and a circular plate (258) attached to an end flange (180). The central spindle (114) of a hydraulic motor (116) is nonrotatably secured to the left hand stub shaft (102). The housing 144 of the hydraulic motor (116) is journaled on the central spindle (114) and is rotated relative to the spindle when hydraulic fluid is supplied through supply passage 306 and is returned to the sump ( 328) through a return passage (310). Rotation of the housing (144) drives the drum (176) through keys (202, ring member (194) and the central flange (182). Bit and block assemblies (280) on the outside surface of the drum (176) can grind tree stumps and other material. Seals (146, 246, 152 and 252) protect the roller bearings 122, 124, 218 and 222) from solid and liquid materials outside the drum (176).

摘要： An improved bracket clamps a cutting tool to the wheel of a stump cutting apparatus and includes a channel defined between a leading bracket half and a trailing bracket half. The trailing bracket half includes an extension extending outwardly beyond an outermost edge of the leading bracket half. The channel encloses at least two-thirds of the cutting tool, and the extension has a planar surface in engagement with the surface of the cutting tool proximate to the cutting tip when the other end of the cutting tool is aligned with the opposing end of the channel. The extension provides rearward support for the cutting tip.

摘要： A stump lifting and crushing device for mounting to an end of a bucket arm of a digging machine includes stump lifting hooks and a bit pivotally closable with a counter bit for crushing stumps therebetween. The bit has an elongated narrow cutting surface which cooperates with an aligned counter surface provided by the counter bit. The counter surface extends transversely across the width of the cutting surface of the bit. The closing movement of the bits is limited by the cam-like engagement of a following member of the bit with a stop member of the counter bit.

摘要： According to the invention there is provided a tree remover which has a relatively long lever in the form of a beam or rod, and has a hole near one end of the lever. A chain having a hook at each end is threaded through the hole. One of the hooks, the slip hook, is looped around the tree trunk or the bottom part of the bush in one or two turns of the chain, and the lever is placed with the end opposite the hole against the ground a given short distance from the root of the tree or bush. The other end of the chain is then locked with the grab hook against the lever, and a substantially horizontal force is applied to the lever. The horizontal force is converted to a significantly greater, substantially vertical, leveraged force for pulling the tree or bush upward and out of the ground.

摘要： A self-propelled stump cutting machine including a forwardly projecting, front mounted cutter assembly controlled by a pivoted, rear mounted handle assembly. The machine comprises a rigid frame to which a pair of spaced-apart drive wheels are rotatably coupled. A motor pivotally secured to the frame and linked to an intermediate transaxle to selectively drive the wheels, also provides power for the cutter assembly. The handle assembly pivot connection is operatively elevated above ground a desired amount by a dolly wheel assembly which is also pivotably secured to the frame. The operating point is established by selectively securing the handle assembly relative to the dolly wheel assembly. When the handles are pushed downwardly by the operator, the remote cutter assembly will similarly move downwardly into engagement with a stump to be removed.
