摘要： Tree anchoring apparatus has a plurality of interlocking anchor units with each anchor unit having connection means that allow the anchor unit to be secured to at least one adjacent anchor unit, an anchoring point provided for each anchor unit, and a cable or strap securable to at least one of the anchoring points. The plurality of interlocking anchor units are transportable disengaged from one another and can be interlocked with each other in situ to jointly provide a surface for supporting an overburden of soil. The cable or strap can be used to secure the interlocked anchor units to a root ball of a tree located there above.

A first portion of the living plant may include at least a portion of the root system of the living plant. In some embodiments, at least two sets of branch portions may be configured to removably couple to the base. At least one set of branch portions may have a different theme.

The digging apparatus is designed with the lowest profile possible to minimize the removal of lower branches from the plant to be transported. When the digging apparatus is lifted and tilted back upon the vehicle the system has a unique locking mechanism for holding the digging apparatus into place.

摘要： An apparatus 10 and method for excavating, transporting, and transplanting a live tree. The invention relates more specifically to equipment, which utilizes curved ground piercing excavation blades 42 moveably supported on a ring assembly 50 that is pivotally supported in a support frame 20. The ring assembly and the support frame may be positioned around the tree and the blades forced into the ground to excavate a root ball which can thereafter be lifted and transported for subsequent transplantation. The ring assembly 50 may be tilted rearward to permit transporting the tree in a rearward inclined or tilted position, such that wind an obstacle damage to the branches and limbs may be reduced as compared to forward tilting movers. In addition, the rearward tilt may accommodate tilting relatively tall trees at angles of up to 90 degrees from vertical, in order to transport the tree under relatively low over-head clearance obstacles, such as bridges, other trees, and porta cocheres. An improved blade keel 40 assembly is provided which saves time and costs, as compared to prior art assemblies.

摘要： This invention involves new and unique apparatus suitable for safely and quickly removing a row of bare root nursery trees. More particularly, this invention teaches a lightweight and raised frame which supports a plow or blade, a power source, a seat for the operator and the controls. Weighted wheels are attached to the lightweight frame by four support members such that the wheels straddle a row of trees to be removed as the frame moves over the top of the row of trees. A U-shaped blade or plow is forced into the earth such that the blade cuts under and around the trees as the apparatus moves along a row of trees and the blade moves under the row of trees. Thus, the trees can be easily removed and the dirt shaken therefrom after the apparatus has moved past. According to one embodiment, a power source such as a small gasoline engine drives a hydraulic pump which is then used to hydraulically actuate the blade and to provide hydraulic power to four small hydraulic motors for independently driving the wheels. Thus, the lightweight frame and the weighted wheels of this invention results in four-wheel drive apparatus which is not top heavy and which is inherently safer than apparatus heretofore available.

摘要： A commercially available four-wheel-drive loader has a conventional "quick-attachment" front plate liftable by operator-controllable hydraulic-cylinder means; and it has the transplant digging machine easily detachably mounted on said front plate for movement between rows of trees, etc., to a position laterally opposite one selected for transplanting (or root pruning). The transplant digging machine has a U-shaped undercutting blade mounted for downwardly swinging ground-penetrating movement and then horizontal root-cutting movement, by separate sequentially operable hydraulic cylinders. The first cylinder swings a slide-in-guide carrier for the blade through an arc from a downward inclination to a horizontal orientation. The second cylinder is in the carrier, and is operated to force the blade horizontally under the root "ball" being cut. Two vertically operated flat blades, oriented perpendicularly to the direction of the U-shaped-blade movement, serve both as earth anchors to neutralize reactive lateral thrust from the U-shaped blade and also to sever roots by along-row loader movements.
