Abstract: A relief apparatus and method of use for providing a flexible connection point between straps of a harness and mitigating suspension trauma for a user of the harness. In various embodiments, the relief apparatus comprises a base plate comprising one or more base strap slots and a central cavity defined by a cavity wall protruding out of a plane of the base plate, and an upper plate comprising one or more upper strap slots and an aperture configured to fit around the cavity wall of the base plate. The base plate and the upper plate are arrange concentrically along a central axis and may be configured to each rotate about the central axis. The relief apparatus further comprises a relief step comprised of a line and having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end being secured to a deployment feature.

Abstract: Provided is a Fall Arrest Staple that includes a slanted base with a flat welding surface and an integral ring section extending from the base that is constructed from aluminum with a maximum internal radii that is capable of accepting a small carabineer. The staple can be welded to an aluminum pole, such as a 4″OD×0.25″ mast that is found on a ship. Advantages provided by the staple include the ability of welding in a perpendicular orientation to a ship deck (in the direction of a fall), welding to a curved aluminum backing plate, and the use of the staple with a curved backing plate that can be welded directly to a ship mast.

Abstract: A connector for use with a fall protection system includes a body, a gate, and a double action locking mechanism. The body includes a spine and two arms extending from the spine to form a gate opening, the arms defining axially aligned first and second apertures respectively. The gate is adapted and configured to move axially through the first and second apertures. In an open position, the gate extends through the first aperture, but a forward end of the gate is spaced rearwardly of the second aperture. In a closed position, the gate extends through the first aperture and the second aperture. The double action locking mechanism is adapted and configured to require application of two distinct and different forces to unlock the locking mechanism and permit the gate to move to the open position.

Abstract: A backpack body has an openable accommodation chamber having a top opening. The accommodation chamber utilizes a restricting structure to position an energy absorption band. The energy absorption band includes a first layer and a second layer that are coincidingly bound. The top ends of the first and second layers extend first and second connecting portions respectively. The first and second connecting portions divergently protrude from the backpack body via the opening. The first connecting portion is configured for coupling with a safety harness, while the second connecting portion is for coupling with an anti-falling device. When the user falls, the falling makes the restricting structure release the first and second layers, so that the first and second layers leave the accommodation chamber via the opening for anti-falling suspension. Accordingly, the present invention has real improvements, including fine appearance, economic efficiency, and etc.
