Abstract: A new heavy bag and support mechanism for allowing a bag to move in a variety of ways after being struck. The inventive device includes a support beam having an I-shaped cross-section. A swiveling rail support is coupled to the support beam. A rolling assembly is slidably coupled with the support beam. A height adjustment tube is swively secured to the rolling assembly. Abstract: A reactive means for a punching bag comprising a shaft for mounting the bag, a resinous resilient bearing and housing through which the shaft passes and in which the shaft pivots, an adjustable pressure plate for imparting a damping effect upon the motion of the bag by compressing the resinous bearing, and a supporting structure. Also disclosed are optional attachments of reactive and motivative devices to the shaft such as springs, weights, and fluid activated cylinders. The effect of the resinous bearing, and the reactive and motivative means attached to the shaft, is to cause the movement of the bag to mimic that of a human opponent.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a martial arts training device useful for developing skill in the martial arts by providing simulated arms and legs for practicing various martial arts techniques. Abstract: An adjustable striking bag support apparatus (10) includes a fixed frame portion (16) with a movable frame portion (18) mounted thereon. The movable frame portion includes upper projecting members (56) that are engageable with tab projections (36) that extend upwardly and outwardly from the fixed frame portion. The movable frame portion also includes lower projecting members (58) movable in vertically extending slots (46). A pair of hand screws (64) are used to lock the frame portions in fixed relative position. Vertical adjustment of the striking bag is achieved by loosening the hand screws and moving the movable frame portion by a handle (60) upwardly and outwardly so as to disengage the adjacent tab projections. Thereafter, the movable frame portion may be moved vertical to the desired level and re-engaged with a tab projection which thereafter supports the movable frame portion at the desired level. The hand screws are then retightened to lock the movable frame portion in position.

Abstract: In a light duty punching bag and suspension arrangement the bag consists of one or two balloons. When two balloons are used one is inflated inside the other, the two uniting to form a resilient bag. The inflation neck of the bag is stretched over the skirt of an inflation collar which includes a valve for controlling inflation. A cap screwed on to the inflation collar provides a suspension connected and also clamps the bag wall to the skirt of the collar. Connection to an overhead rebound board is by a short flexible element and a ball and socket joint in tandem.

Abstract: A free-standing, self-righting punching bag having utility as a toy. The punching bag is sculptured and three dimensional; it is provided with a water-filled flexible enclosure at its lowermost end which serves as a counterweight to right the bag when it has been toppled by a punch or kick.
