Abstract: A turbine bucket according to embodiments includes: a base; a blade coupled to base and extending radially outward from base, blade including: a body having: a pressure side; a suction side opposing pressure side; a leading edge between pressure side and suction side; and a trailing edge between pressure side and suction side on a side opposing leading edge; and a plurality of radially extending cooling passageways within body; and a shroud coupled to blade radially outboard of blade, shroud including: a plurality of radially extending outlet passageways fluidly connected with a first set of the plurality of radially extending cooling passageways within body; and an outlet path extending at least partially circumferentially through shroud and fluidly connected with all of a second, distinct set of the plurality of radially extending cooling passageways within body.

Abstract: The present invention provides a power device generating greater propelling force and finds that traditional power devices do not include all propelling forces based on the fundamental core propelling force source problem. External pressure is guided to the traditional power devices since the inner speed is higher the outer speed, power consumption for overcoming fluid resistance is high, and mutual contradiction results are obtained. The unique difference between the present invention and general common sense lies in opposite fluid pressure directions; inner fluid channels and outer fluid channels with higher flow speeds are formed to generate pressure differences which guides the fluid pressure to the outside and serve as propelling force, and thus the present invention creatively finds three propelling force sources, two lifting force or propelling force sources of helicopters or airplanes driven by propellers and two propelling force sources for sufficient burning of fuel in combustion chambers of engines.

Abstract: A super-heated self-compressed air rotary turbine driving a built-in, outside-in axial flux generator is provided for providing power to heaters in thermal communication with the walls of the turbine chambers. Moisture within the working fluid is thus heated, making steam and thereby increasing the pressure of the working fluid. The compression caused by the turbine rotation also increases temperature. The discharge of each turbine chamber is feeding a nozzle. The shaft power drives a main generator, and after passing over the turbine the air stream maintains a portion of its initial energy. The remaining energetic air stream left is then cycled to the compressor, thereby completing the cycle. A main generator driven by the turbine can remain approximately constant, regardless of the load. Input to the compressor can be regulated with the rpm of the compressor motor and the current to the heaters in the turbine.

Abstract: A system and method of energy conversion using a mixture of a compressible gas and an incompressible liquid. Systems found in prior art do not convert all of the potential energy. Novel features of the system increase the conversion of the potential energy with a nozzle and turbine in the area where a mixture of incompressible liquid and compressed gas are separated. A turbine is at the exit of the nozzle, where the mixture contacts that turbine. A compressed gas displaces an incompressible liquid below the exit of the nozzle and location of the turbine. Another turbine can be prior to the nozzle to further increase conversion. A novel feature of the method combines waste heat with a compressed gas to increase potential output during expansion which includes driving a liquid pump that moves the incompressible liquid. External energy in waste heat or electricity is captured, converted, or stored.

Abstract: A reaction-type turbine according to the present invention is configured in that a portion of a rotary shaft module which penetrates through a side with an inlet portion of a housing has a diameter larger than the diameters of other portions. Thus, the pressurized area in which a working fluid applies pressure to a rotary shaft in the direction opposite to the working fluid flow direction increases, thus increasing force in the direction opposite to the working fluid flow direction. As a result, axial direction force applied to the rotary shaft in the working fluid flow direction may be reduced. Therefore, the reaction-type turbine of the present invention has the advantages of eliminating the necessity of installing a separate thrust bearing for supporting axial force in the working fluid flow direction.

Abstract: A centrifuge type turbine. The turbine has a circular hollow rotor having a centrally located air and fuel inlet and an outer periphery. A stationary exhaust shroud surrounds the outer periphery of the rotor. The rotor has at least two spiral shaped swirl channels located therein extending from the air and fuel inlet to an outlet located at its outer periphery. The swirl channels are formed by stationary spiral walls. The air and fuel inlet has a plurality of stationary curved blades located therein and adapted to rotate with the rotor and to swirl and admix fuel and air introduced thereinto. An ignition source located in the exhaust shroud ignites the air/fuel mixture. A plurality of stationary push point members are located within the exhaust shroud.
