摘要: A disc clamping device seeks to attain size reduction and simplification of the structure without spoiling the smoothness of centering a disc. A disc clamper has an upwardly projecting central hung pin penetrating a circular hole formed in a clamp support member and having a head greater in diameter than the circular hole. At least either one of the portions of the edge of the circular hole and the head of the hung pin in engagement with each other is formed with a tapered surface for centering the disc clamper. The clamp support member is provided with an elastic member, for instance a leaf spring, for pushing the head against the edge of the circular hole.

摘要: A movable member 35 is moved back or forth by a motor 33. A carriage opening/closing member 41 which vertically guides a pair of projections 40 opposingly formed on opposed faces is disposed between upper and lower carriages 36 and 37 which are elastically supported on the movable member 35 and vertically opposed to each other. Reading/writing heads 19 which are opposingly disposed on the opposed faces of the upper and lower carriages 36 and 37 are separated from magnetic data recording surfaces 7 of a magnetic data recording medium 6. When the carriage opening/closing member is moved in a direction opposite to the above, the upper and lower reading/writing heads 19 are contacted with the magnetic data recording surfaces 7 by a predetermined load pressure.

摘要: A method for controlling the speed of a sled motor for an optical disk drive, wherein the sled motor is first driven according to a predetermined target velocity profile stored in a microcomputer. Then, a frequency of a sinusoidal wave output by a Hall-effect sensor is detected and it is determined whether the frequency of the sinusoidal wave is greater or smaller than a predetermined value. The target speed is incremented by a predetermined amount when the frequency of the sinusoidal wave is greater than the predetermined value, and is decremented by the predetermined amount when the frequency of the sinusoidal wave is smaller than the predetermined value.

摘要: A disc clamp mechanism for preventing a disc (e.g., DVD-ROM or CD-ROM) from slipping and/or loosening in a high speed rotation comprises a positioning member sized to the center hole of the disc having a hole for being mounted on a turntable, and an inclined surface; a helical spring within the positioning member; a disc-clamping member sized to the center hole of the compact disc having circumferential raised portions, recessed portions each extending from the raised portion, and flexible V-shaped members surrounded by two recessed portions and a raised portion; and an elastic plane-like member mounted on the positioning member. As such, the disc is secured by the raised portions, the inclined surface, and the turntable when loaded onto the disc-clamping member. This mechanism finds applications in the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM products. Further, a thinner construction, an easy assembly, and a high positioning precision are realized by this mechanism.

摘要: A disk recording/reproducing device includes a power transmitting mechanism which transmits movement of a pickup while engaging with the pickup, and a disk retaining mechanism which, in response to the movement of the pickup transmitted by the power transmitting mechanism, retains a disk on a turntable or releases retention of the disk. Radially inward movement of the pickup causes the disk retaining mechanism to retain the disk on the turntable, while radially outward movement of the pickup causes the disk retaining mechanism to release retention of the disk. For accomplishing the release of the retention of the disk upon the radially outward movement of the pickup, an operation switching mechanism is provided for changing a position of the power transmitting mechanism to cause the power transmitting mechanism to engage with the pickup upon the radially outward movement of the pickup.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for automatically clamping a compact optical disc, or the like. The invention comprises a first contact surface and a second contact surface. Loading a disc into a disc player brings the contact surfaces into contact, which actuates a clamp. Unloading the disc separates the contact surfaces, which releases the clamp. The contact may be caused by relative motion between the contact surfaces.
