Abstract:
A method of verifying the identity of a dispensed pharmaceutical includes the steps of: reading identifying indicia on a pharmaceutical vial containing a dispensed pharmaceutical; determining the identity of a prescribed pharmaceutical called for by the identifying indicia; acquiring an image of the dispensed pharmaceutical through the vial; comparing the image of the dispensed pharmaceutical to data storage comprising image data associated with pharmaceuticals; acquiring spectral data for the dispensed pharmaceutical through the vial; comparing the spectral data of the dispensed pharmaceutical to data storage comprising spectral data associated with pharmaceuticals; and automatically determining whether the image and the spectral data of the dispensed pharmaceutical confirm that the dispensed pharmaceutical matches the prescribed pharmaceutical.
Abstract:
The present invention is a hitching system for attaching a trailer to a tractor. The tractor includes a frame, a front axle, and rear axle. The trailer includes a frame and a gooseneck arm extending from the frame. A hitch-receiver pair is provided to fixedly attach the trailer to the tractor. One of the hitch and the receiver is attached to the gooseneck arm, and the other of the hitch and the receiver is attached to the tractor frame above and ahead of the rear axle. The hitch is configured to freely rotate with respect to the receiver by freely pivoting, pitching, and oscillating.
Abstract:
A method for displaying and distributing provided data including media and advertisements to a user of an electronic system for the management of medical documents includes establishing and operating a web-based application for viewing, storing, managing and sharing the medical documents in electronic format by an operator, providing the provided data, and selecting at least portions of the provided data based upon sponsorship by a sponsoring entity to provide selected data, the provided data being correlated to stored profile attributes of the user. The method also includes displaying and distributing the selected data, and the sponsoring entity providing compensation to the operator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for controlling an exhaust gas stream. Said device comprises a housing (1, 101) with at least a first, second and third connection (2, 3, 4, 102, 103, 104) that form links to a first, second and third exhaust gas conduit for conducting the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, a first sliding element (6, 106) with a displaceable first sliding rod (6a, 106a) and a first sealing member (6c, 106c) that is located on said rod, a second sliding element (7, 107) with a displaceable second sliding rod (7, 107a) and a second sealing member (7c, 107c) that is located on said rod and an actuator for a force-assisted actuation of the device. According to the invention, a link (4c, 104b) can be established between the first and the second connection and can be adjusted by means of the first sealing member (6, 106) and a link (3c, 103b) can be established and adjusted between the first and the third connection by means of the second sealing member (7c, 107c). The device is equipped with a control mechanism (8, 108) that is connected to the actuator, said mechanism (8, 108) permitting the first sliding element (6, 106) and the second sliding element (7, 107) to be displaced.
Abstract:
A modular fireplace burner assembly replacement method comprises providing a burner assembly positioned on a floor of a fireplace, turning off the gas source, decoupling a gas connection of the burner assembly from the gas source, removing the burner assembly from the fireplace, altering the burner assembly, positioning the burner assembly on floor of the fireplace, coupling the gas connection to the gas source, and turning on the gas source. The step of altering the burner assembly may include repairing the burner assembly or one or more subcomponents thereof, performing maintenance on the burner assembly or one or more subcomponents thereof, cleaning the burner assembly or one or more subcomponents thereof, or replacing the burner assembly or one or more subcomponents thereof.
Abstract:
This invention involves the use of a class of compounds with chelation affinity and selectivity for first transition series elements. Application or administration of the free or conjugated compound, or physiological salts of the free or conjugated compound, results in decrease of the bioavailability and/or chemical action of first transition series elements. These characteristics make such compounds useful in cosmetics and personal care products to decrease odor arising from microbial growth on body surfaces and in body cavities, decrease microbial growth on teeth, plaque, and gums that cause tooth decay and gum disease, inhibition of oxidative damage to the skin, inhibition of enzymatic action of metalloenzymes dependent on first transition series elements, and inhibition of reperfusion injury.
Abstract:
A portable and collapsible deck suited for use at the entrance of a house trailer or mobile home includes a floor formed from wood or metal. The floor has opposed longitudinally extending side edges and opposed laterally extending front and rear edges. The deck also includes at least one movable wall with an edge at the level of the floor that is connected to one of the side edges of the floor. Each wall is movable between a vertical collapsed position extending upwardly from a side edge of the floor when the deck is being transported and a horizontal deployed position extending laterally from the floor. The deck includes a framework supporting the floor of the deck and the framework includes ground-engaging wheels mounted for rotation at the bottom of the framework. A coupling at the front of the deck to facilitates connecting the deck to a towing vehicle such as a truck for moving the deck from one location to another. When the deck is set up for use, a plurality of spaced apart foundation columns are located beneath the deck and extend upwardly from the ground to support the deck in a fixed position. When the deck is to be moved to a new location it can be collapsed by elevating the walls.
Abstract:
Polyphosphonate ligands containing three or more phosphonate groups, combined with paramagnetic metal cations and administered in the form of pharmacologically acceptable salts, are useful as MRI contrast enhancement agents, which tend to localize in bone tissue without being conjugated to bone-specific biomolecules. Triazacyclononanes and tetraazacyclododecanes, with dihydroxyphosphorylmethyl or dihydroxyphosphorylethyl groups, optionally substituted at the methyl or ethyl bridges with alkyl, aryl, hydroxyl or amino groups, are particularly preferred.
Abstract:
A basketball net is formed of six U-shaped strands of stiff, flexible weather-resistant material, joined together at spaced points by small connector clips. Each strand preferably is a steel cable having a plastic coating or sheath, that provides distinctive coloration and oxidation protection for the cable.
Abstract:
A presenting/dispensing system for orthodontic/medical devices is described, which devices are formed homogeneously in an elongate elastomeric chain, with each device taking the form of an elongate carrier body with a central, elongate finger portion to which is integrally joined a small supply tools, such as O-ring ligators or others. The body is formed in a T-shaped configuration with the finger portion being joined at one of its ends to bar-like handle/positioner/indexing structure.
