Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a notification message in a Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) system are provided, in which a terminal detects an Access Point (AP) from an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrapping session, queries the AP to request a notification message list or all or part of a notification message over a communication channel, and receives the notification message list or all or part of the notification message from the AP.
Abstract:
A method for minimizing overhead occurring caused by control information for encryption performed to protect MBMS data for an MBMS service in a mobile communication system. This method is implemented by distinguishing a case in which control information used for encryption is updated from another case in which the control information used for encryption is not updated, and transmitting different control information according to the distinguishment result. That is, when the control information used for encryption is not updated, only minimized control information is transmitted, and when the control information for encryption is updated, the entire updated control information is transmitted. Accordingly, the amount of control information transmitted along with MBMS data is minimized, contributing to an increase in the amount of MBMS data transmitted per unit time.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for enabling partial combining on a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service are provided where a radio network controller (RNC) specifically informs a user equipment (UE) whether an MBMS service signal of the current cell is combinable with the same MBMS service signals received from different cells for each individual service or timing, through an MCCH or an MSCH, which is a type of a logical channel for an MBMS service, in a Uu interface. The UE combines the MBMS service signals transmitted from the different cells, thereby obtaining a gain in terms of utilization of transmission power and radio resources.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for enabling a UE to perform accurate and efficient cell reselection in a cellular mobile communications system. If reselection to the same cell is repeated, the UE releases itself from a high-speed UE state or excludes the number of reselections to the same cell from the number of cell changes counted for a duration set for deciding as to the high-speed UE state, according to a ping-pong duration threshold and a ping-pong occurrence number threshold. The UE uses a non-scaled down cell reselection time limit in a non-high-speed UE state, and a scaled-down cell reselection time limit in the high-speed UE state. Thus, the UE reselects to a non-serving cell having the highest ranking continuously for the cell reselection time limit.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for continuously providing a selected service being watched when a user moves out of a cell or network in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) Convergence of Broadcasting and Mobile Service (CBMS) system. Information required for a handover is provided to a terminal using an interactive channel. The handover for the terminal can be performed using a conventional scheme and an enhanced scheme even when the user moves to a new cell while watching the selected service. As the enhanced handover scheme is provided, the user can receive a seamless service. In a mobile environment, a handover scenario for the terminal can be efficiently provided.
Abstract:
A paging method for an MBMS service is provided. To efficiently transmit MBMS control information in an MBMS mobile communication system, an RNC transmits to a Node B a control message including a list of NI information for MBMS paging groups by the RNC and the Node B establishes a physical channel according to the control message and transmits an MICH including NIs to UEs on the established physical channel.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for controlling the transmission power of a DSCH in a mobile communication system is disclosed. In the DSCH transmission power controlling method, a UE generates information for controlling the transmission power of the DSCH based on a channel condition determined by the reception power of a CPICH from a node B transmitting the DSCH to the UE, and then transmits the power control information to the node B.
Abstract:
A method for mapping first coded TFCI symbols and second coded TFCI symbols to a radio frame in a transmission apparatus of a mobile communication system for encoding k first TFCI bits and (10−k) second TFCI bits, a sum of the first coded TFCI symbols and the second coded TFCI symbols being 32. The method comprises multiplexing the coded symbols such that the first coded TFCI symbols and the second coded TFCI symbols are uniformly distributed according to a transmission mode and a data rate of the radio frame, and outputting 32 coded symbols; and mapping the 32 multiplexed coded symbols to the radio frame to satisfy the number of the coded symbols that can be mapped to one radio frame, determined according to the transmission mode and the data rate of the radio frame.
Abstract:
Provided is a method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving a service in a digital broadcasting system. When a user desires to continue receiving a service in an Internet Protocol (IP) platform other than an IP platform to which the user belongs, a network provides service mapping information to a terminal. Thus, even when the user moves to another IP platform while viewing a user-selected service, the terminal can continue receiving the service.
Abstract:
A signaling method between a MAC (Medium Access Control) layer entity of a transmission apparatus and a MAC layer entity of a reception apparatus in a packet communication system including the transmission apparatus and the reception apparatus wherein upon receiving a signaling request, the MAC layer entity of the transmission apparatus transmits a MAC signaling message including control information and a signaling indication indicating transmission of the control information and the MAC layer entity of the reception apparatus determines whether the MAC signaling message includes the signaling indication, and receives the control information included in the MAC signaling message, if the MAC signaling message includes the signaling indication.
