    摘要: A tire inflation pressure detecting apparatus includes a second transceiver provided on the body of a vehicle which changes its operation alternately between a second transmitter and a second receiver mode, thereby intermittently transmitting a radio wave. A first transceiver provided on a wheel of the vehicle operates in a first receiver mode to receive the radio wave, thereby charging a charging unit. When the charging unit has been sufficiently charged, the first transceiver changes operation thereof from the first receiver mode to a first transmitter mode, in which the first transceiver first repeatedly transmits an informing signal at predetermined time intervals for a predetermined time period and then transmits a pressure signal. When the informing signal is received by the second transceiver in the second receiver mode, the second transceiver keeps its operation in the second receiver mode until the pressure signal is completely received.

    摘要: A first trigger unit and a second trigger unit output trigger signals to transceivers disposed for the four wheels of a vehicle. The first and second trigger units are attached to wall surfaces of tire housings corresponding to the left front and left rear wheels respectively. Each of the first and second trigger units is arranged in a position of the wall surface having an angle from 5 to 25 degrees with respect to the side of the corresponding wheel. Transceivers attached to a right front and right rear wheels are thus located farther from the trigger units than the left front and left rear wheels, respectively. Such arrangement allows the transceivers attached to the right front and right rear wheels to receive the outputted trigger signals with sufficient accuracy due to high field strength.

    摘要: A wheel identifying apparatus includes first and second triggering devices located on the body of a vehicle, a plurality of transceivers each of which is located on one of the running and spare wheels of the vehicle, and a receiver and a wheel identifier both of which are located on the body of the vehicle. The first and second triggering devices continuously transmit first and second trigger signals, respectively. Each of the transceivers monitors the strength of either the first or second trigger signal thereat for a given length of time, and transmits a signal indicating variation in the monitored strength. The receiver receives and provides to the wheel identifier all the signals transmitted by the transceivers. The wheel identifier identifies, for each of the signals, the wheel on which the transceiver having transmitted the signal is located through a comparison between the variations indicated by the signals.

Each transmitter includes a pressure sensor working to generate a pressure signal representative of an inflation pressure of a tire on a corresponding one of the wheels and a noise receiver working to receive a noise generated by a noise source in the vehicle. Each transmitter is configured to transmit the pressure signal and the received noise to the receiver. The receiver is configured to determine the inflation pressures of tires based on the pressure signals and make a determination for each of the transmitters as to whether the transmitter is provided on a front-wheel or a rear-wheel of the vehicle based on a level of the corresponding received noise.

    摘要: A tire air pressure detecting device that determines whether an abnormality has occurred in a transmitter is provided. When a response is not received from the transmitter mounted on a wheel, wheel information detection is retried because an abnormality may have occurred in the transmitter. A triggering device is provided on the vehicle-body side and requests a response from the transmitter corresponding to the relevant wheel. The wheel information detection is retried by the triggering device being instructed to output a trigger signal (re-try trigger signal) at a timing (phase) differing from a steady transmission. As a result, the tire air pressure detecting device can accurately determine whether the unresponsive state of the transmitter is caused by an abnormality in the transmitter or by another cause.

    摘要: According to the present invention, a tire pressure monitor, which is provided on a wheel of a vehicle, includes a pressure sensor, a transmitter, an acceleration sensor, and a controller. The pressure sensor works to output a pressure signal representative of the inflation pressure of a tire fitted on the wheel. The transmitter works to transmit the pressure signal. The acceleration sensor works to output an acceleration signal representative of a centrifugal acceleration which increases with the running speed of the vehicle. The controller is configured to: 1) determine a change in the centrifugal acceleration for a predetermined time period based on the acceleration signal, 2) determine the vehicle as being in running state when the determined change is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, and 3) control the transmitter to transmit the pressure signal when the vehicle is determined as being in running state.

    摘要: In a vehicle tire air pressure detection system, a charging electromagnetic wave is transmitted for a predetermined period from a vehicle chassis side and stored as a charge voltage in a transmitter unit attached to a tire wheel. When the charge voltage reaches a predetermined level, a sensor in the transmitter unit detects a tire air pressure and a transmitter/receiver of the transmitter unit transmits a detection data on an electromagnetic wave in the same frequency band as the charging electromagnetic wave after the predetermined period from a time point at which the charge voltage has reached the predetermined level. Thus, interference between the charging electromagnetic wave and the electromagnetic wave of the detection data is prevented.
